Nursing in USA or Philippines?
I graduated in Cebu and I would have to agree with some of the comments above that if you would like to be a nurse in the US, just study in the US. I think clinicals in the US and Philippines are also different. When you're a foreign grad working in the US, you have to jump through more hoops like taking an English exam or going back to school to take a few classes. Basically you end up paying again for those things. So in the long run, studying in the US would probably be easier.

Would you quit over white uniforms?
I used to wear all white on my first job. It didn't bother me, I just got used to it. I wouldn't quit because of that. If I quit because of every little thing, I'll end up jobless.

Urgent help! help need!
I also want to add that companies that do evaluation services such as CGFNS and WES have this thing were you pay them to keep your CES for a longer period of time. This way, you don't have to go back to your nursing school and try to contact them again if you need a CES. Being a foreign grad, I felt like paying the additional fee to keep my records longer was beneficial.

Urgent help! help need!
My university changed addresses too. I just had to google and contact the office. Making international calls were expensive, and emailing was unreliable because I didn't think the office checked their email much lol. But eventually I got a hold of them and got my nursing school evaluated. It's doable, please don't stress.

Bachelors from the Philippines
I'm not sure if this is the right board to post but I just had my nursing school credentials evaluated and it says that my bachelors in the Philippines is equivalent to the bachelors here in the US. I'm not saying all schools in the Philippines might be equivalent. Just saying that it is possible. The reason why I'm posting this is because I've had people telling me that my bachelors from the Philippines isnt equivalent to the bachelors here in the us. In case you're wondering, I used WES to evaluate my credentials. The school that I plan on enrolling for masters required me to have my credentials evaluated by WES. I've used CGFNS in the past as well, and that was for my NCLEX in September 2012. Hope this helps.

Puppy and nursing school?
My cat's purring relaxes me. :) I've always been a dog lover. Went to a shelter and saw this beautiful cat looking at me. So I played with her in a little room, and you know how they say cats choose their owners? She jumped on my lap and started purring. She's a purr machine. It was love at first site. Instead of adopting a dog, I adopted a cat. :3

Too Soon to Start MSN for NNP?
I feel the same way too. I have 9 months of NICU experience here in Texas. I had 2 years NICU experience outside the country but that was years ago. I really am interested in taking masters but I'm wondering if I should take the RNC first. RNC requires 2 years NICU experience in the US I believe. I was looking at the UTMB and Vanderbilt programs. I haven't really looked into UPenn yet. I'm worried about the future of NNPs. I hope it is true that there will be a shortage of NNPs in the future. I think I've read somewhere that no one really likes to hire NNPs because they're expensive and they'd rather have neonatologists. I hope that's not true in most of the hospitals. I subscribed to this post because I'm definitely interested in what others comments are. I wish the OP best of luck!

Further studies for NICU
Thanks everyone for your input. I really do want to go back to school and get a masters degree. I'm just still confused about which one to take. I asked a friend and she suggested to shadow an NNP/CNS/CNL to help me decide on what to take.

Further studies for NICU
I've heard about Neonatal CNS, is that how you become a Nurse Educator for the unit? I've also heard about CNL. I did some reading and I'm afraid I still don't fully grasp the difference between the CNL and CNS. I read somewhere that CNL handles microsystems and CNS handles macrosystems. I got lost when they explained that part in the article. Can anyone please help me understand?

Further studies for NICU
I understand. However, I'm pretty sure if I graduated NNP and still do bedside, I'll be held to the highest degree I achieved and still be paid as a staff nurse.

Further studies for NICU
Aside from the certification, is there a masters degree that would still allow me to do NICU bedside nursing?
