  1. Mount Sinai-- New Grad BSN= $35.??/hr (forgot the change, but it's not $35 flat), 10% night diff, and you get paid Weekly
  2. Hi RNBean, would you mind sharing the agency you are working with? I have a BSN and every agency I contact says I need at least one yr of experience before they place me anywhere. 987, A friend of mine is a new grad with his associates, and he was able to get interviews at a few hospitals. He said he didn't have any connections either. But he does have a few years of exp working with psych pts. Try metropolitan hospital.
  3. night diff =$3 p/hr, so $5,850 p/yr
  4. I work there now. They are currently hiring, so apply online. They would prefer if you have a car, but will send you on visits in the city if you don't drive since it's easier to get around via public transportation there. If you drive, they will TRY to keep your visits close to home.
  5. Thanks, Tern! That's a sweet schedule. I was hired as "variable days/nights" 12.5 hr shifts. From what I hear, they will have me working mostly nights. I haven't had too much experience with HR for this transfer yet. I won't deal with them until after I pass this test. So lucky you got waived! I heard they made the exam harder in 2009, but you're right I passed the boards, so I should be able to pass this. I know you must be happy about your salary change! Congrats again!
  6. Congrats Tern! what unit are you in? How was the pharm exam? I'm taking mine next week and I'm nervous! Did you complete the online NLN practice exam? If so, was it helpful? I completed it, but it just gives your score at the end. I thought it would give a more complete breakdown of my score that included rationales for the answers. I'm going to be in the September orientation (hopefully, lol) Congrats again! I work there also and I'm so excited to start my nursing career at NYP!!
  7. They only hire BSN's if you're a new grad. I'm not sure if they hire adn's with a lot of experience.
  8. Thanks! I will be working in the ed at cornell. They didnt recommend a book to me.
  9. Hi FreestylePete, Which review book did you purchase? Can you post a link pls? I'm taking the test in a couple weeks and I'm getting nervous!
  10. Just wondering if anyone took the test recently, and how they did? was the NLN guide sufficient? I will be taking the exam in a few weeks and I need all the help I can get! Any insight will be greatly appreciated. :)
  11. They told me it was because a lot of people are taking the NCLEX and they have been overwhelmed. The first 3 times I called, they told me "next week" each time...I guess you just have to get them to the point where they are tired of hearing from you. I told them I had a job prospect and that I would lose the position if I didn't get my license number. It's frustrating, but don't give up!
  12. No don't be nervous. I took the boards on July 2 and didn't get my lic. # until the 20th. And that was after calling 5 times. I called twice last friday and spoke to the same woman, (who had an attitude both times) but my number was up later on that day. Just harrass them. dial extension 280 so you can avoid that guy. (I spoke to him too, lol) ETA: Two friends that i went to school with took the boards after me but received their #'s before me. That is what sent me into full harrass mode, lol.
  13. Hi Yeya, How did you get an interview there? did you just apply, or did you contact a recruiter directly? thanks!
  14. Hi All4nursing, Why are you thinking about rejecting the position?
