  1. I just recently found out I have been accepted into the fall cohort! Congrats to all others.
  2. I'm planning on applying next year... Can anyone give any tips on studying for the teas
  3. Hello I'm thinking of returning, is the pay in the 20's in NC? I don't wanna come back for a low pay rate.
  4. It all depends but prob reg interview questions. I did several interviews for LPN and they are all similar to any job interview questions.
  5. NurseDRolle replied to imis's topic in NCLEX Exam, Programs
I think they are still up to date but if I were you I would use the disk from the back of the book. The true key is knowing how to answer the questions. You can know everything in the world but if you don't know how to answer the questions it won't matter. I used the disk and selected study mode and read the rationales, this helped me. I did several live reviews and they didn't help at all, the disk did it for me.
  6. Nope, the nursing field is also saturated and nobody wants to hire new grads. They would rather overwork the nurses they have.
  7. The only thing CNA will help you with is the foundation of nursing, therapeutic communication, assessing, monitoring etc, as far as a job no because they are gonna say we want you to have "nursing experience". The only shift that is stress free for a CNA is the over. Night shift, otherwise you will burn out. Overnight you'll gave time to study because the residents are sleeping. I say go for it as long as you stay away from the morning shift which is the most hectic shift ever and will cause you to almost breakdown sometimes because they demand so much form the CNA. Your also lucky if you get nurses who actually enjoy helping, they are slim to none.
  8. I didn't do RN but for the PN I did 100 questions a day from the disk that came in the nuclex study books. I did the Kaplan as well but I hardly ever got in the 60's. I think the Kaplan is much harder than the actual nclex, the key is understanding how to answer the questions. I studied for 2-3 weeks and passed on the first try.
  9. I think if it's a concern of yours you should bring it up, there is nothing wrong with doing your job, keeping patients safe is BIG part of your job and it could be something that no one else pays attention too.
  10. Yea it is a great idea. Being a cna really teaches you therapeutic communication in my opinion and experience. You also learn how to do a great assessment.. I have been there and done that so it's worth it if you can handle the nature of the beast (cna work).
  11. Idk where your located but dade medical actually has a lpn-bsn program
  12. YES!!!! No Reason at all lol! But not even just RN programs but some LPN programs have wait list too..
  13. It depends if I were you I'd check the reciprocity(relocation) & see if FL will transfer your LPN & go from there.. I'm from NC & transferred my CNA to FL.
  14. Don't worry I got to a school called MedVance Institution & it is just as high but so are many of the other schools.
  15. I def agree with you because there are ppl who want this bad. But trust me I am very glad to be starting this. I think the time is going to fly by for me because that's how much I lob nursing. I'm a current CNA at the moment.
  16. I don't think a lot took it as serious as they should have so instead of taking the blame they blamed the school & some are going elsewhere & some didn't pass the dosage & calc hesi & that's something you had to pass to go forward
  17. Hiiiii!!!!! I graduate Aug 2013 as well, my school Had 80+ applicants for my class 22 were accepted & after our frat semester only 11 of us remain!
  18. So are you here in FL? I think ive heard of then
