Indiana State University Online LVN to RN program
I just applied to the ISU LPN to BSN program. I have been an LPN since 2008, have two gidgets, a hubby and work full-time as a home health nurse, so finally finding (and trusting) an online program that fits into my schedule and is backed by a good name is a God send. Any gradutes on here from ISU?

How do you handle student complaints?
Hi, I am currently a PN student and recently made a complaint against a new, never before taught instructor for testing on material NOT covered in class, nor was there reference made to where information might be found about the particular subject she tested on. After taking these tests and finding I did not pass 3 out of 5, each time I asked the instructor where this information she tested on was so I could at least read about it and educate myself for future tests. Each time her answer was "ït's in the book". I have been in this program since last July, NEVER miss a day of class/clinical, pay attention, ask questions, etc., I was due to graduate this Aug. 2 BUT I failed this instructors class by 2 points! So my advice would be to please please please when you are giving a test, make sure information is either covered in class, shown what chapters to read or anywhere information would be found on information you are testing on, so the student has at least 1/2 a chance.

My "professor" who has never taught before reports to the Dir. of Nursing. I feel like the Dean is not in it at all but the Dir. of Nursing said he spoke to the Dean.

Dispute final class grade!
Thanks you all for your responses! I will have proof of not getting the information tested on once they let me review and reference information from my tests and quizzes....I am waiting on a call back today from the Dir. of Nursing...so if he doesnt give me what I am looking for I will stick to contacting the Dean...AGAIN... Hope things work out for you guys as well!

Dispute final class grade!
Hi all, I have a situation and hope someone can help... I go to a private college and the classes there are month by month (not semesters) anyway, last month (March) I was scheduled to take the next class and found we had another "new" instructor with no previous teaching experience, (this has happened before but thats a whole other story). So, as we proceed through the month and take the first quiz, I got a 72% which our passing grade is 80%, I am usually an A B student, so I asked the instructor what I missed in our notes or in our book that I did not study because I was floored when I got the quiz and found the information being tested on was not what we went over in class. She said, its in your book....OK so I look through both the NCLEX book and the Med Surg books we are required to have and find NO information on the things she tested on! The whole rest of the month is like this.....at the end of the month after inquiring over and over to get a copy of her notes she uses to lecture on and what book she is getting the info out of.....she fails me by 2.6 points! So out of 6 people in this class 4 failed! So I go to the Dean...wrote an appeal letter, dropped it off. The next couple days I call to talk to the Dean but had to leave a message, this happened 4 times and no response. I so I email the Dir. Of Nursing and he tells me the Dean has no such letter! WHAT!?!?!?!? SO i email the Dir. of Nursing the letter, he says he will talk to the Dean and call me later today....UGH! Never have I missed one day of class or clinical since last May, study my rear-end off, make good grades and they put a new instructor in there and she fails me??????? I asked to see a copy of all my tests and quizzes to reference where the information came from and the Dir. of Nursing says he will get back to me about that........ I dont no what to do...I am my wits end....I will graduate in July if all goes well.....so close, anyone with ANY advice please contact me....thanks for your help

Ivy Tech Vs. Brown Mackie?
I had the same questions about credits transferring but if you already are licensed it doesnt where you went to school as long as you passed the NCLEX

lpn-rn programs in Cincinnati
Which Brown Mackie are you attending? I am in NKY

Ivy Tech Vs. Brown Mackie?
I currently attend Brown Mackie In NKY. I was at Ivy Tech in L'Burg and the wait to get into their RN program was too long for me. They were only accepting 40 students at the time I found Brown Mackie. BM is a very tough program, yes it is accelerated and you have to study constantly but well worth the money and time you put into it. I will graduate in August of 2007.

Brown Mackie College
Thanks for that info! I will be going to BMC in June 2006 in Northern Kentucky. So since you have gotten your LPN was it easy to find a school to bridge to your RN?

TEAS Test?
Hey there, I am taking the TEAS on November 17, 2005 and am totally freaked out by the unknown, meaning what will be on the test. Did you study so much that if asked anything in the study guide, would you know the answer?

Brown Mackie College
Hey there, I am from Lawrenceburg, IN and STILL waiting for a nursing class to get into, then I found Brown Mackie, thinking of starting in November, just a few weeks, otherwise i will have to wait for Aug. to go to Ivy Tech when I could ALREADY have my LPN. Are you currently attending?

Let's talk more!!!!!!!
Hey guys! Finally some more chit chat in the Indiana area!! I will hopefully get into the new RN program at Lawrenceburg Ivy Tech next Aug. 2006. I have been studying that dang TEAS practice book till wee hours of the morning every night! So being a student still, how is it finally working as an actual RN or LPN?
