  1. Thank you for posting your update. It is really important for people who failed (and got to the bad pop up) to do this, because I believe it adds validity to the "trick". You are doing a lot of people favors by doing this, so THANK YOU!! You're absolutely right that you should not give up hope and try again! Good luck to you. I know with your good attitude, you will make it :) Best wishes
  2. I took NCLEX-RN on Jan 22nd and I'm still waiting on results
  3. wow!!! Congrats, girl! How exciting!! I'm on 12 days and counting.. Hoping it's any day and PVT runs true!!b
  4. Congratulations on passing! Do you mind clarifying exactly what you saw when you got the "bad"'pop up? Did you enter all of your CC info, press submit, and get the message that you've been registered again? Because that is the new bad pop up. Im asking because after the 24 hour mark, the PVT should be extremely accurate. Thank you!
  5. Hi everyone I'm also in the same boat. I took the NCLEX January 22nd, with no results yet posted. My school sent transcripts the 2nd week of January, because we graduated (pinning) was December 19th. I am also relying on the good pop up trick as I have already accepted a job offer -- YIKES. From what I've been reading, it has taken them roughly 3 weeks for transcripts to be received and put into your file. Although, as you probably know, it's taken much less for some and longer for others. I wish there was some rhyme or reason about how they process applications! Lets keep each other updated and find comfort in the pop up trick!!!
  6. Someone on FB said that they have been calling and interview dates are set
  7. From what I have been hearing and reading, it sounds like the recruiters pick a small amount of resumes to send to the nurse managers, who then look over your resume and decide if they want to call you in for an interview. I put ED down as my unit, but then I recently heard that ED does not hire New Grads. I have 7 years of EMS experience. No real leadership experience besides teaching an EMT class years ago.. Doesn't sound like we will hear any updates until end of Dec/early Jan. Keep your head up, everyone. If we didn't get a rejection e-mail right now, it means we made it through the first of what seems like many cuts! lol :)
  8. Awesome, thanks for the updates! My status is also "application in review" but my date has not updated. Is anyone else in the same boat?
  9. Hi New-Grads! Did anyone else here apply to UC Davis' New Grad Residency? If so, let's keep each other updated on this thread. Good luck everyone!!!
  10. Hi, fellow New-Grads! Did you apply to Stanford's New Grad Residency for March 2015? If so, let's keep each other posted! Good luck to everyone :)
  11. Hi guys.. I graduate SMUs BSN program this December, and when I applied, I has six (yes, SIX!!) IP classes. They look at your application as a whole, not just one section. Best of luck!!
  12. I think RunBabyRun's comment about SMU was merely an opinion. I am am graduating from SMUs BSN program this year, and I can say from experience that the hospitals we have contracts with and the nurses we work with are pleased to work with SMU students. Personally I have never heard someone talk about SMU in a poor manor (as far as the other hospital staff is concerned). I rhink if anything, there is a little rivalry between the BSN programs in the bay are. Who knows. Anuways, we do only complete 1 clinical rotation at a time, we do get preceptors and clinicals matched for us, and 99% of the teachers are excellent and want to see you succeed. Yes, it's expensive. But I didn't have to wait to get into nursing school. It's only two years and you're done! Also, our NCLEX pass rates are as competive as the other BSN programs. You can check the BRN for the official numbers. Good luck to everyone, and if anyone has questions about SMU, let me know!
  13. I'll see you guys at your orientation too! I'm on the student panel and will be there to answer questions for you guys :) congrats!!! So exciting!!!
  14. Im so glad I found this! I'm at SMU and we are trying to figure out what to make for our sweatshirts! It's so hard to think of something creative. :)
  15. I don't know how far down they went on the waitlist for my cohort last year, but I do know that someone in my cohort got in from the waitlist, and she was number 3.
  16. Oops, sent the comment too early. That was probably the counselors best guess, based on my cohort.
  17. I think you may be getting that 16 from my cohort, which was Spring 2013. They accepted 16 last year, but 32 for spring 2014. :)
  18. Just to let you guys know, having in-progress classes doesn't necessarily hurt you. I have 5 in-progress classes when I applied and was still accepted, so I think it's more case-by-case and they look at the entire applicant :)
  19. Hey Roro! So last year, all of the community college transfer students got their acceptance letters and wait-list letters on the same day. A few days later, rejection letters went out. I'm just not sure if it's the same thing this application cycle, because I have had several friends who applied and they haven't heard anything either. In fact, the only person who I've know received an acceptance letter is the previous poster :) So, I'm really not sure if they are doing it differently this cycle, and I wish I knew more! Good luck.. Keep us updated
  20. We didn't have an online option when I sent my deposit. I had to call the office of admission and give them my CC info over the phone. Either way is fine, I'm sure. If it doesn't post from your account in a few days I would just give them a call.
  21. Lmk if you have any other questions, Alex. I hope to hear about more acceptance e-mails soon! Alex, the time stamp is always off on this website. Did you receive your acceptance e-mail late last night?
  22. Hi Mike! I'm in the BSN program at SMU right now. I have a few friends in the ABSN and some in the ELMSNs, so hopefully I can help answer some questions for you.. As far as the TEAS, SMU wants you to be above the national average for overall score, math and reading. Those are the areas they are most concerned about. I would definitely wait till after you finish your sciences to do the TEAS cause the science section can be really rough. Investing in a TEAS practice book will probably help you out too. I love SMU and I'm so glad to be here. Both the ABSN and ELMSN programs are tough, but they are supposed to be! :) best of luck to you!
  23. Hey Alex! Congrats on your acceptance!!! YAAAYY!!! Nope. Once you got your deposit in, you'll just be waiting for emails on further instructions. I believe we got most of our info at the end of November. I remember feeling really rushed since classes started January and I felt like there wasn't a ton of time to get everything togrther.. Just make sure to check your junk mail frequently, and make sure they have the right email on file.. CONGRATS AGAIN!!! :)
  24. First semester looked like this: Mon: 9-10:50 1-3:50pm Tuesday: 9-11:50 1-3:50 Wednesday: 9-11:50 Then you had one day of clinical on some other day of the week. My clinical day was Sunday, but it was different for others. Hope that helps!
