  1. I misplaced, left at work(if so it is long gone) or loaned my PASS CCRN CD to someone. I am freaking out because I cannot find it anywhere!!! This throws a HUGE monkey wrench in my study plans. The new version does not come out until the 21 and Barnes and Noble has no more copies of the old edition in stock. The local libraries do not have copies of the book. The two major teaching hospital libraries do not have copies of the book/cd either!! Does anyone have any suggestions, support, or an e-hug?
  2. i think an ekg and enzymes are prudent, especially since some of the psych meds can cause a prolonged qt interval.
  3. my little anecdotal input to this discussion is this: one day about a year ago i was helping 3 of my colleagues perform a spinal dressing change on a 550 pound woman. I had to hold up her hips.........aka the business end of her body. this 550 pound woman farted in my face:lol2: as i was trying not to laugh in the room(thankfully she couldnt see my face) i thought to myself: self, why are you doing this with your life? The answer was most definitely not for the 21 bucks an hour i get paid!! I've been at it for 3 years now. I guess i keep doing it because i like it.
  4. i am considering one of those "toddler locator" gadgets or a keyfinder gadget.... you know hit a button and your missing child, keys, etc starts beeping
  5. if only they made lojack for stethoscopes...............someone should really work on that
  6. just read that you can print out your own paper for the livescribe pen via the livescribe desktop application
  7. oh em gee, how much do you all think you will be making right out of school......corvettes, bmws, cruises..........im 2.5 years out of school and i am still having to plan and space out my big purchases. i did buy a new(er) car because my old one died........how much are new grads getting paid these days.......i want some of that $$$$
  8. http://www.amazon.com/Streamlight-Stylus-4-Inch-Penlight-65018/dp/B00008BFS5 is an awesomely awesome penlight

  16. somehow with 6.5 hours left till i find out.........that doesnt make me feel better i cant think of a single question i know i got right..........then again i cant think of any i know for a fact i got wrong...........im trying to stay positive though..........ATI said i had a 97% chance of passing and my grades were good, but right now i feel STOOOPID
  17. i feel like i had a lot of select all that apply no EKGs, some psych, a few meds, few peds, infection control and a lot of who would you see or call back first............... when it cut off at 75, all i could think was omg i have 110 more questions i can do ..............i can do better i promise!!
  18. took mine today....... 75 questions..........i dont feel too good either
  19. ive gotten B's in my classes.......due to a 7point scale, otherwise i would have all As........last semester there wasnt a single A to be found. our tests are 50 questions long, so you miss 4 questions and you get a B on it. A's are very hard to come by.
  20. haha, listening to you is like a balm to my soul my old roomate(when i told her i had add) said i always new something was up when you would suddenly ransack your room at 2 am to clean and organize it(and not quite get it clean again). I have trazodone to help me go to sleep, but it makes me feel so yucky in the mornings if i havent slept long enough i dont run around all over the place, dont have quite that much energy right now but i do fidget, cant sit still and i have to change positions ALL the TIME. my social interactions definitely suffered over the years, esp since as i mentioned before i tend to interrupt people, cant help it if i dont blurt it out, i forget it. Focusing on mundane tasks is hard, focusing on studying is a hurculean effort. I have a day planner, i always have the best of intentions in using it, but after a while i forget about it and therefore dont follow thru with it. I start tasks and school projects with enthusiasm and lots of ideas, but get bored with it quickly. Its the same with cleaning and dieting and exercise......sigh Sometimes i really do feel crazy lazy and irresponsible and i have read the book i think its "you mean im not lazy crazy or stupid" and i have to say that listening to the ADD naysayers does get me down just like my parents telling me that im lazy and not responsible did in my teens I TRY really hard but i just cant follow thru with stuff like that =( structure is great tho so far in clinical i have had no problems, but i start precepting next week so i think that will be the true test of me
  21. omg that is so me.... I was diagnosed in 2003 a year after i finished my BS. My 1st grade teacher recognized my inattention, but nothing was ever done about it.... I finally ended up taking Adderal XR because i always forgot my lunchtime dose with the regular adderal and the ritalin before that my grades my first semester in nursing school were awesome, but then life got in the way and i couldnt afford to stay on my meds and my grades reached a lovely plateau of Bs........cant really complain too much but As would have been wonderful. so i cant wait to get a real job again with benefits so i can go back on my meds again...........
  22. This question might not fit in here, but here goes anyway i have to choose between a rural ICU and well (duke university med centers) neuro ICU for my preceptorship this spring and im not really sure which one i want to do..................your thoughts and suggestions will be most appreciated
