  1. Anyone know of a cheaper option for Excelsior's information literacy besides Penn Foster? Penn Foster's course is no longer being excepted. Thanks!
  2. Wooow!! Congratulations! Can't wait til I'm there! That isn't too bad of a wait... Good luck!
  3. Who is Sherri Taylor, is she from Excelsior?
  4. What are journals from EPN?
  5. When ever I have taken an exam, the grade that I get seems like it doesn't reflect the individual percentage scores on the back page when you get your printed results. Like when I get A's, I'll get like high 80's and maybe even a 70 or high 60 in one area. Or like when I have gotten a C before, I had two areas in the 50's and the other two were 60's! Is it like this because of the unscored questions in the exams or something? It's just confusing to me. I find it hard to believe there are THAT many unscored questions. I thought 70=C, 80=B, 90=A? Just wondering because every exam has been this way... Starting to wonder if there has been a mistake on the scores of all my exams or something! Thanks in advance for your response.
  6. I am so sorry to hear that! That would be great if they could wave 60 day period for you! I've never heard of that happening? What were your practice exam scores and how long did you study? Hang in there, at least you know what to focus on now....
  7. Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hooooooooooooooooo :)
  8. My last exam is LS3 and I have it scheduled for August 20th, hopefully I pass!!
  9. Congrats! I just passed this one too... I thought it was a TOUGH test! Way to go!
  10. Jeeeeeeeez thanks for the tip
  11. 20 mark all that apply! Holy cow! I hate those!!!
  12. DON'T DO IT!
  13. Thank you! :) And congrats to you too! I'm actually going to try to make it for the September FCCA... I have LS2 scheduled for Aug. 6th and LS3 scheduled for Aug. 20th, hopefully all goes well and I can make September! Kinda rushing it though!! :S Good luck to you!
  14. Got my first C today and I am a little disappointed in myself for not studying as much as I should have, but still very happy I passed! I was going to take this exam on July 20th but rescheduled for more time to study... On to the next one!
  15. Hmmm, I can't really think of anything specific related to the Transition exam coming up off hand. It seemed to me like that transition exam was more of a history review, much different than the other exams so far...
  16. Just a little advice since I have seen some posts where people ask which order is best for taking the exams. I found that taking them in the order in which they are listed is best because material from the previous exam always seems to somehow creep into the following exam. I'm not saying that exact questions repeat themselves but I always feel like I have hit some information already while studying for previous exams while taking a test. I almost think EC does it on purpose to make you remember information from all your studies and that is great if information pops in our heads like that while we take our boards. Good luck, everyone! Keep up the good work!!
  17. I set my date 1 month out for health safety, because it was my first exam... after that i scheduled one about every 2 weeks. That would be nice if Transition transferred in for you! Good luck! :)
  18. Sounds like you will have the majority of your pre-reqs transferred in, but the only way to be sure is to send in your transcripts and have them evaluate your unofficial transcript to make sure. I would take health safety and transitions to get them out of the way right off the bat because you can take those exams without enrolling to the college, and you would ultimately have more time to finish classes before having to pay the yearly fee because you would have those exams finished. Good luck!
  19. Good choice, Maggie! :) You will not regret it.
  20. Well if you get your RN first you will probably end up having more money to pay for your own schooling to acheive the BSN. Think of all that over time you could work to pay for school! haha :)
  21. It is a good thing that you came here to research before you signed on with TCN! Excelsior is in no way affiliated with TCN and they posted that on their website. Excelsior's content guide states that all material and information needed for each is exam is provided. I met with College Network too and I am SO SO SO SO relieved that I did not sign on with them. Some people who are going through TCN say it is great and everything, but you can get the same type of material through studygroup101, the recommended textbooks, content guides, AND *Excelsior Practice Exams* Another thing to consider is that if you sign on with TCN and there are any changes in the program through Excelsior, you will not find that information through TCN and any contract that you sign through TCN might not include any changes that occur in the program, and we all know nursing programs are in a constant state of change! Simply put, DO NOT sign a contract with TCN, Excelsior gives you plenty of resources all in itself.
