WOW! are we the same person? I thought I was the only person to feel like this. Nurse 7 years, changed to new hospital thought it would help but I'm realizing its the profession I'm in. I wanted to extend maternity leave and when I found out I couldnt my anxiety the past 3 weeks has been overwhelming. The change in my attitude just knowing I have to go back to work soon has DRASTICALLY changed. I am moody again, upset, anxious, worried, frustrated, and overall unhappy. I know I should be grateful having a noble profession helping people with the schedule that I have and the paycheck that has allowed me to travel and do so much but damn, being a nurse flat out SUCKS it feels like right? So many super nurses out there that want to change the world I dont feel that. Trust me when I say youre not alone.

I am going through tough times. Transitioning from maternity leave to ER RN. Parents also going through potential divorce which devastates me. I'm scared to seek therapy due to the stigma and my job finding out as well as having to now check boxes on all sorts of forms stating I've “seeked psychiatric help”. Its frustrating that to just speek to someone and vent, now needs to be publicized for all to know it feels like. I dont want meds I dont want to be diagnosed, I simply want someone to vent to who is not friends or family, basically someone who is not emotionally attached because I sinply dont need them getting upset WITH me. But seeking therapy so to say, is too risky. I need advice on where to go, your opinions, and who to speak to as well as anyone else feeling this way please let me know

Nurse for 7 yrs and I still get anxiety days before my shift. Sometimes I even hate my job(depsite how grateful I am for it) theres just somethin about it. I get you %100.

Hi i'm Nicole i have been a med/surg nurse for 2 yrs. I would like to go back to school but i am having trouble gathering information which is discouraging me to go back. no website has helped. Here is my question: --- is there a website that lists in detail different masters programs for nursing that i can scan through to see what i would be interested in? lets say i am interested in masters in nursing psych /nurse practitioner, is there a website that lists what a psych nurse practitioner is responsible for? how do i go back for my masters if i have no idea what i am getting my masters in and what the position entails!!?!?!?! every time i type into google anything regarding "masters in nursing" a bunch of colleges come up but nothing lists information about the position such as what i would be doing as a nurse practioner of psych or if i got a masters but not an np positon. why am i finding it impossible to find a website that lists this information? if anyone has suggestions of who to talk or good websites please let me know! thank you
