  9. one bedroom apt in the city is around 1600. im renting a loft for 1200 in 21st/2nd ave. its a walking distance to my hospital though.:)
  10. i live in new jersey!! :) yeah i think i like it better because its not that stressfull and competitive. the instructors really help you one on one if you have any thing that you aren't comfortable of. :) plus they are sooo flexible with the schedule. and oh, no they didnt ask situational questions. :)
  11. YES!!! I got a 3.7 and la guardia didnt accept me. got in at beth. id suggest finish your pre-reqs. its easier once your in the program. you might wana try LICH too they're the same continuum and dean but its in brooklyn. apply early too. good luck
  12. WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE YOU WANT TO BE A NURSE? WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF 10 YEARS FROM NOW? WHY DID YOU CHOOSE BETH ISRAEL? WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE SUBJECT? HOW ARE YOU GONNA PAY FOR SCHOOL? SUPPORT SYSTEM? WHO INFLUENCE YOU THE MOST IN YOUR DECISIONS? .....so far these are all i could remember. :)
  13. hi nandra, congratulations. if they call you for interview, its like 90% you'll get accepted. good luck!!
  14. hi, i got accepted in beth 2 years ago for the ATOP program which is offered only 2 a week from 7am-7pm. there were 600 applicants, but only 8 of us got accepted, the reason they said that mostly werent that serious or qualified enough. i dont know exactly what they're looking from, coz i never took my pharma and nutrition. anyway, 8 of us ended taking nutrition classes and the program was postphoned to the following sem. to make the long story short, i decided to apply for the regular program. A friend of mine who works there told me about LICH, they have the same continuum and dean. I stayed with LICH coz i think having my experiences from both school, i'd say i love it here better. not too much pressure, instructors are great!! i didnt do that much preperation. i came from la guardia college so i had A&P already. i studied the nln, that you have to take seriously. buy the books, it helps a lot. have a very convincing reference letter, and make a good essay. take time in reflecting to yourself why you really wana be a nurse. dont lose hope, you can do it. :) good luck
  15. oh, yes u wud complete it in two years time. in my case, i took several science courses ahead so i cud focus myself on the nursing classes. some of my classmates are taking it altogether though. all nursing classes are held during the day but some science courses, u cud take it at night. we all have diff sked on the clinicals. some at night, some in the morning. depending on ur availability. theyre pretty flexible and the staff will help you if u have problems with ur sked. hope i cud help. :) let me know if ur planning to apply. :)
  16. yep! i love it. it makes me looking forward to going to school and learn something new each day. :) id suggest u attend the open house. its good. you cud ask questions and they'll give u ur information packet plus the application form right away. wer do u live anyway? do u go to skol now? if so, wer?
  17. howdy! im currently at LICH and i love it. ive been at beth israel too and i would say that LICH is not that competitive. i dont know...maybe its just me. when are you planning to apply? they are the same continuum anyways.
  18. Im currently at Long Island College Hospital School of Nursing. Its the same curriculum as Beth Israel.
  19. hi..yep fundamentals. :) just wana be informed and ready...dont wana waste more time. hehehe... program is very good. i have great professors. :)

  21. hi everyone..im looking for a volunteer/community work to gain more clinical experience in my field right now. im currently doing my clinicals at Cobble Hill Hospital which is at Brooklyn, NY, but i'd love to do extra work somewhere in Jersey where i live. anybody has any idea?? thanks :)
  22. hello..i need information on a good school to proceed for my BSN after taking my ADN. is there a school that doesnt require a lot of nonsense credits (i.e.theology,physics,etc) ? is there any accelerated RN to BSN/MS program available? i wana do Nurse Anesthesist...is that too much to ask? is that a loooong way for me ?? help!! thanks :)
  23. i had bad experiences with all CUNY schools mainly LAGCC. My GPA is 3.6 and i didnt get in the program. They definitely want you to take pre-reqs as they call it with at least a 3.0 but in the end they wouldnt accept you for some stupid reason. I heard BMCC is the same. Each CUNY schools has its own set of 4 key courses to take, and a private institution got NONE. I suggest, do your essay well, and ace your entrance exam. Im in a private nursing school now, much more expensive, but my dear, its definitely worth the money. :)
