  7. I finally received my email today to schedule an interview!! I scheduled my interview for Wednesday so I will let you guys know how it went!
  8. You're right! I hadn't even thought about possibly abused patients. Forgive me! I will be more considerate
  9. I have Medscape, Epocrates, and Micromedex on my iPhone! All free apps.
  10. It's funny that I came across this post because just this week, my hospital came out with a new HIPPA policy that stated, we needed to ask family members to step out including spouses and ask them is ok to ask medical history and other pertinent info in front of spouse and family members. We, the staff, thought ok we understand other family members but asking the spouse to step out is a bit much! Not to mention, I work in an outpatient area so of course, if the patient didn't want the family members or spouse to know info, they wouldn't have brought them to begin with!
  11. I applied for the MSN Nurse Educator program in Nov. 2011 for Fall 2012 and STILL waiting to hear from them!! when i call, they say they are still reviewing applications. I hope this is not an indication of how they run school business
  12. FYI: Memorial Hermann Northwest has 4 new grad RN positions listed on the website for the ER. If you're interested in working ER, apply there
  13. I'm in agreement with Ashley! I work in a cath lab and the first thing we do is apply O2!!
  14. @Andjography: Trust me, I know how you feel!!! I got accepted to another school also but my hearts belongs to UTMB. I guess "NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS"
  15. I applied for UTMB fall 2012 MSN program back in December 2011. My application status has been complete since January and I haven't heard a thing from them! I'm almost wondering have they lost my application. Does it really take this long to hear something?
  16. Basically, EBP has been around all along, we just didn't call it that. For example, we've been taught for years that early ambulation prevents pneumonia and DVT after abdominal and other surgeries. Now, there is studies and research to actually back that theory up, hence EBP
  17. UTMB in Galveston has online NP program
  18. Grand canyon University has online RN-BSN program. Try looking into programs in your state, tuition is usually cheaper when you're a resident and don't have to pay out of state fees
  19. Thanks for your reply. I will have to check my job for partnership info
  20. What is the cost per semester for Walden's Nurse Educator program? I'm thinking of applying for the fall 2012
  21. I was accepted to a Master's program to begin Fall 2012!!!! I'm excited but nervous! Congrats everyone
  22. Our cath lab uses Angioseal most of the time!! It's very successful. Perclose and Starclose have been used before but there is always bleeding involved. Tell your cath lab to sick with Angioseal or go radial access and use the TR bands which is very successful
  23. No, she didn't tell me how many would be accepted. She just said she had HUNDREDS of applications to review
  24. I applied to UTMB Master's program and was told last week, that after Spring Break, they will start to review applications. First of April, they will start calling applicants for interviews is what I was told
  25. No problem. That is not the place for you if you're going back to school. They will tell you everything you want to hear to get you in there and once you're there, things will change FAST!!! We lost alot of nurses because of that
