Questioning American Politics?
The system is so broken that it led to the creation of MAGA Republicans, formerly known as the Tea Party, and The Squad, liberals who are often unwilling to consider other perspectives. For example, AOC's opposition to Amazon's HQ2 in New York cost the city billions of dollars in potential economic benefits. This demonstrates a lack of understanding of the broader implications of their actions. President Biden appointed Vice President Harris as the immigration czar. How many times did she visit the border? How often did she visit the states impacted by border issues, not for fundraisers, but to see firsthand the effects of transporting people across state lines? Has she addressed the vulnerabilities of the northern border? As head of the Senate, how frequently did she push the immigration issue? I wish she had called out each member of Congress for not coming to the table and worked on passing bills to address this critical issue for America, forcing leadership to vote on meaningful solutions. The Inflation Reduction Act resulted from congressional leadership. This underscores the importance of electing a Congress that truly represents the people and prioritizes the country over the party. America is no longer just an idea; it is the principal example of what democracy can achieve when we all work together.

Questioning American Politics?
According to AP news, "Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell" has defeated U.S. Rep. Cori Bush in a Democratic primary in St. Louis. This is very good news because we need more centrists elected to Congress. We, the people, need elected officials who can see both sides of an issue and help create fair solutions https://apnews.com/article/missouri-congress-election-bush-bell

The Kamala Harris Thread
Governor Andy Beshear leads a red state, and I hope he continues his efforts to push Kentucky forward. I genuinely believe he embodies the leadership America needs. I hope he continues to remain focused and that people across the country recognize the incredible progress that can be achieved when Democrats and Republicans collaborate effectively.

Questioning American Politics?
Instead of concentrating on the shortcomings of presidential leadership, I want to focus my efforts on flipping Congress to a Democratic majority to advance meaningful legislation. This situation feels reminiscent of the 2016 presidential race with Hillary Clinton.

Questioning American Politics?
I am struggling to support Vice President Harris because I feel she hasn't made significant contributions to improving the country. Can you provide a list of five pieces of legislation she has passed as the tie-breaking vote in the Senate? Rather than focusing on criticizing the Republican leadership in the Senate, it seems she hasn't actively advanced any meaningful legislative agenda that could benefit the country. Given this, I question how she would effectively lead as President. I also wish the Republicans hadn't nominated Trump, as I would have considered voting for them under different circumstances.

Questioning American Politics?
Honestly, these are speaking points that have no plan in place. I agree abortion is an issue, but how can electing VP Haaris help with abortion when the Supreme Court overturned it? That is why we need to vote for Congress blue to get abortion laws officially passed. The president can only pass an executive order that can always be overturned at the end of his or her term. What types of laws can a president pass that are not executive orders and can not get re-issued with a new president? The only reason Biden's student loan forgiveness did not happen is because of the Judicial Branch. That is why we need to create a sea of blue in Congress to get meaningful legislation. Please do not confuse an algorithm with a vote.

Neither millennials nor Generation X support her as a Presidential candidate. Please let me know what policies speak to the people of a younger generation??

Questioning American Politics?
Yes, she and to be honest. I can see the country going red now. Please let me know her plan.

Questioning American Politics?
Yes, this is going to be a tough election. You are right, but Trump has a group of Supreme Court judges that are loyal to his will and not the Constitution.

Questioning American Politics?
1-I do not doubt she respects the law, but as the border czar, how many times did she go to the border? In my opinion, there are a host of things things that could have been done better. She did a "root cause analysis". Honestly, more could have been done. 2- I agree. 3- I do not think it is accurate. She is a leader who has not used her platform or voice to define her goal and plan for the country domestically and globally. Trump, I would never say better than Harris 1- Trump is above the law because the Supreme Court states the same. 2-Trump is corrupt and now has the Court and potentially Congress to back him up. 3-Trump created the MAGA movement, which is the worst type of extremism to ever happen to this country( January 6th, 2020) Trump was elected by the majority of Republicans, and we are in a situation where only a handful of people are selecting VP Harris . Does the American democrat voter choice even matter?

The Kamala Harris Thread
I will ask this genuine question: why are you supporting Kamla Harris?
-
Questioning American Politics?
No, it does not we have the technology to conduct an election in the blink of an eye. Why not have a call to action for a primary election before the DNC?
-
Questioning American Politics?
The Supreme Court is Trump's court, which is exactly why I want some form of a valid primary. If Project 2025 has taught me one thing, it is that the Democrats are playing chess, and the Republicans are playing the 3D version. To prevent this drama, I know having an in-person primary within the month to solidify and validate her candidacy is easier. The company and technology exist.
-
Questioning American Politics?
Why not have a primary in which every registered Democrat could participate? The technology exists; I know a number of people who will sit out because they feel their voices and votes do not matter.
-
Questioning American Politics?
You are right about the funding. It is very disappointing that this is our option. Honestly, it will be the first time I do not want to vote for either candidate. R-Trump has this whole agenda called Project 2025, which is beyond scary. D-Harris did not operate at her potential.

Twitter has no news standard and not everything is verified. It is clickbait.

Questioning American Politics?
Yes, but we should vote for someone who can win. The current situation is R-Trump + D-Harris. It is challenging for me. All news has an agenda and some type of political bias depending on the campaign year.
-
Questioning American Politics?
Yes, she was selected by the president, not elected by the people. How can you be for the people if the people you are " for" were not given a chance to vote?
-
Questioning American Politics?
According to the news, they made an unofficial call with delegates and agreed it would be Vice President Harris. Why not have a primary where she can be challenged and win the nomination? Not one major political Democrat is speaking up; I have nothing against her. I just wished they had an election, and the people's vote was the determination, not an appointed one.

Questioning American Politics?
Did our continental plates shift? Did we just decide to become a country that establishes a selected monarchy on the will of a few? What happened to voting? What happened to our elected officials? Do they blindly follow the party? Do political parties not hold elections anymore? These questions have unfolded since President Joe Biden stepped down from the democratic election. It's up to us, the concerned American citizens, to question and demand answers about this shift in our political landscape. When did America become a monarchy? The " hierarchy" in the democratic party forced a democratically elected President who won the primary to step down from office. The time to decide was a year ago. However, they did nothing, and we, the people, are in a situation that we never asked. I am demanding answers. To some of these valid questions?

Why should anyone pay attention to the U.S. elections?
I took a temporary sabbatical and stepped away. However, after watching the recent debacle of a debate, I felt compelled to return, not to address this in a politically correct manner but because it is necessary. I am now back and typing faster than ever. Let's get back to the topic: WOW! Did you watch the debate and experience a headache from both candidates? Did your eyes begin to bugle? Did you feel your heart beat faster at certain points? Did you experience secondhand embarrassment every time either candidate spoke? If yes, please continue to read and name who we, the people, should select for President and Vice President since these candidates and respective running mates cannot lead. This is America; we are better than this. There are intelligent and capable people who could potentially help move this country to new heights. How can we genuinely evolve as a country if we stick to what we have always done? Our leaders must inspire and move us as a people and a country domestically and globally. Unfortunately, watching the debate, I see that neither Trump nor Biden is the solution at this pivotal time. However, we hope to find a leader to bring about the positive change we need. I am not trying to be cynical or controversial. I love being an American. I may not always agree with what someone says, but I will defend their freedom of speech. I am not trying to change the course of history. However, I am simply observing that we need a strong leader who is capable and willing to guide us as a country. A leader that is capable of making the difficult decisions. A leader willing to listen to the truth no matter how difficult. A leader who wants America to be the best in the world through education, healthcare, and modernization of the country, to name a few. A leader who does not care whether they received your support will step up to represent the American people. A leader that is country over party. A leader is selected for the people by the people. Your voice matters in this decision. I am not sure if what I saw or heard represents candidate former President Donald Trump or current President Joseph Biden. We as a country need to become no longer viewed as an idea nor an experiment but as a foundational table and seat that upholds democracy.

Nurses at University Medical Center vote to unionize, a Louisiana first
Yes, I agree. Please reach out to Nurse United. In my opinion, all nurses should be in a collective professional union, like actors and entertainment professionals
