  1. :DCongrats!!! Welcome to the Nurses's Club!!!!!!:)
  2. CONGRATS on joining the NURSES CLUB!!!!!:yelclap:
  3. Good luck and take ur time and if u dont understand the questions, breathe and say a quick prayer. I recently passed and this is what got me thru this test. Think smart and most of all think like the NURSE u will be!!!!
  4. Good luck...Take ur time and think like the RN that u will be tomorrow!!!:yelclap:
  5. Good Luck and you WILL pass!!! Take your time and breath throughout the test. When I tested, I kept telling myself "this is just a test." Also, whenever you don't understand a question say a prayer and ask yourself exactly what is the question asking. I will keep you in my prayers:loveya: Keep us posted.
  6. Thanks everyone I really appreciate the support. I'm starting a new job later this month.I'm excited and nervous at the same time!! To answer a couple of questions, I used the study guide that someone was was kind enough to upload to AN, you can easily find it by typing it in the search log. Also, I think you can PASS without Kaplan, I think Lacharity and NCLEX 3500 or 4000 was GREAT! At any rate, whatever you use make sure u understand the rationales and the importance of priority and your safety and infection control, the SG had good mneumonics. If your not so hot with content, review Saunders, but dont read too much. Everytime I felt myself getting overwhelmed I watched a youtube video to reinforce what Iv'e learned. Good Luck to everyone testing, feel free to ask me anything:redpinkhe
  7. At this point, its all about being confident in what you know and staying positive. Its okay to be a little scare, but this can also disrupt the task at hand, which is ultimately to pass. Also, stop focusing on your classmates and who has passed or failed. This is your moment.I just passed and this was my biggest problem worrying about my classmates. The last wk before my test, I did questions from only 2 cdroms,NCLEX 3500 and Kaplan(more of NCLEX 3500).You dont want to overwhelm yourself the last week. The day before, I only did 100 questions and reviewed lab values and the SG floating around here. Know your Safety/Inf control, Prioritization/Delegation and ABCs. Good luck and U can do it!!!
  8. Congrats! I also just joined the party today!!!!!!
  9. Hello Everyone, I am so excited and blessed to be in the position to say like so many others I passed the NCLEX RN with 75 questions. I tested on Aug 28, one of the scariest days of my life. This feeling is so surreal, the feeling of knowing all of the hardwork finally paid off is overwhelming. I'm not a regular on AN but this site has definitely kept me motivated and focused these last 2 mons of studying. Its great to be able to network with so many people experiencing the same thing with the same goal in mind, becoming that great NURSE:nurse:!!!! I greatly appreciate EVERYONE that took the time out to post notes, answer a question or even offer words of encouragement. Little do u know, you guys are helping so many others. As far as preparing for NCLEX, I used to PDA Lacharity,NCLEX 3500(good select all that apply) Saunders,Kaplan QB, and the study guide not endorsed by AN. Personally, I feel PDA was the BEST. If your not so hot on content review Saunders, but be careful not too read too much,I found myself overwhelmed after a while. If anything atleast complete the questions after each chapter. Kaplan(im kinda neutral):(I really think they did a great job of lowering my confidence especially the sample tests,so random. My highest on all seven was a 60. I didnt complete the last one because it was too overwhelming,if anything just complete the qb and actually understand the rationales. Last words of advice be confident and positive, ATTITUDE is Everything. Relax, I recommend staying away from this website a day or 2 before the test, sometimes seeing that others have passed or failed can lower ur confidence. Also, look at the study guide, it saved me on atleast 5 questions. Know your Safety/Infection control, Prioritization, Delegation, cardiac meds, and EKG strips.(I had 5). Good luck to EVERYONE and give NCLEX all U got!!! It Time to PAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRTYYYY!!!:yelclap::w00t::cheers:
  10. Thanks for the info..Does thisapply to new graduates??? I tried calling HR, no response:)
  11. Hello nurses and future nurses, I recently graduated from a BSN program and just scored my FIRST interview.;)Yay! It is a RN surgery position. I have not had a "real" interview in years. I really want to do a good job.My question for everyone is what questions should I ask to show my passion and actually stand out, also what type of questions is appropriate for surgical nursing.I reallllly want this job.Any input from new nurses or even surgical nurses would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks
  12. No offense,In a profession such as nursing..Being employed at "ghetto" healthcare facility is irrelevant.Nursing is a people oriented profession, which means nurses should actual prefer settings where there is a great NEED. This is just my opinion.
  13. Wow, I definitely understand your confusion. We had a med surg rotation, but most of us was on renal, oncology,or even cardiac. You can learn alot on med-surg,but it sure isn't my first choice as a new grad.:loveya: I agree that you can learn alot in the ED,but I love cardiac because it effects the body in all aspects. Goodluck
  14. Hello All, I am proud to be a recent BSN graduate,YIPPPPEEE!.Although, school is over it's time to start preparing for NCLEX-RN. My study materials includes Saunders,ATI modules,Medsurg textbook, and Lacharity, and a 4day Kaplan review course. I am hearing great things about NCSBN,what exactly is this and HOW do I obtain this information?? All information would be greatly as I start preparing for the grand finale.
  15. Hello, From my understanding, stomas should always be PINK and Moist, never purple..The nursing process is ADPIE! Goodluck:yeah:
