This happens more than you know unfortunately. Here is what I have learned in my time since becoming a nurse. A. Their not gonna tell you that no matter what.the know you probably won't take the job if offered. They know this. B. I got nothing, most jobs get better with time. C. Don't answer the phone, I don't have mine in my bedroom. It's a #1 no no for getting a good nights sleep specially on days off. PS. Lack of planning on their part does not constitute an emergency on my part. That's the way I see it.

That's why I like ICU they are intubated and sedated

It's hard to get to know the job in six months. I didn't like nursing either when I first started but I changed departments a few times and found somewhere I like to be. If you get the opportunity try ER. It's fast paced and the patients are not there long before they are admitted or sent home. It is a completely different work environment from the floor. As far as your BSN you can get an MBA in business admin and work "upstairs" in the offices. Or look into legal nurse giving lawyers advice for legal cases. Lot of opportunity out there just do some searches for it. good luck Chad

I graduated in May 2013 and I went straight into a Cardiac PCU unit with is a step down but still considered critical care at my hospital. And right now I only have my ADN but I am getting my BSN in a bridge program

Look at it this way every new skill you add to your tool bag will net you more money at you next job. As nurses we always have to look forward for increase in pay and to do that we have to become more valuable to future employers. I work a cardiac PCU floor and I recently got trained and certified for Aquaphoresis ( kind of mini dialysis for CHF patients) I don't get any more money now but when i move out of state end of the year my next employer will take all skills into consideration. I"m a male nursing student I graduate in may 2013, woohoo 48 more days lol. There will be a moment here and there that will seems awkward but remember to be professional and focus on the task at hand of helping people get better and maintain better health and you will do just fine. Even in my OB rotation i did complete care for our mom's too be :) A nurse I was working with summed it up the best go in the room and say hi I am _____ and i'm you nurse today and don't make it an issue. I"m third semester nursing student and those day happen, specially in the first semester the school go through a weeding out process to see who can handle the stress and who can't or at least they do herer. I agree with the rest catch the professor away from class time and say your sorry and why you had a momentary lapse of reason. You'd be suprised how understand they are your not the first nuring student to grace his class. Hang in there you can do it :)

depending on the state license board can take 4 to 6 weeks

I would recomend a study program like Kaplain yes it's money but they do a great job letting you know how the NCLEX is worded and strategies to passing it.

I didn't find any magic way to memorize it was pure repitition, but It worked I got an A and now a third semester in nursing You can do it :)

I';m in east tennessee and wanting to move to NC what parts are best I would like to be on the coast if possible thanks I graduate in may 2013.

Consider a change of venue, certain areas are inundated with new grads where others are begging for employees not a perfect soultion for at least a temp one that will land you some exsperience.
