   Very true, but even bigger picture is: if demands are too high, they'll just start importing more nurses (who are willing to work for much less) on visas from other countries. In many ways, unions are part of the reason jobs are being lost in the US....

   OKKKKKKKKKKKKK...........agree with the fact that money should not have bought off such a faux pas and the student should have been more severely reprimanded. However, do not agree with the attitude that is coming through in many of the responses.......

   To the Original Poster: You might be able to do both with very little to no slow down if you plan WISELY. If you were to get a BSN, you could then apply to medical school. You don't HAVE to have a biology or microbiology, etc degree to apply to medic...
