2015 Lpn students and graduates!!!
Hello! I have not started the lpn program yet but I am applying for a part time lpn program at a local community college. I'm excited and nervous. The wait of knowing if I got in is killing me. I won't know anything until March of next year.

What are the odds? LPN Admissions
I probably should have used other words in my title. I wasn't looking for odds on getting into the lpn program that I am applying for, I was asking in general how would it look bad that I retook the act and scored low even though I already had a substantial score on my act. Thanks so much for the help from everyone though. I am going to wait awhile and study and try to get into school next year. I'm going to study and retake my ACT and Teas V. :)

What are the odds? LPN Admissions
I'm trying to get into a lpn part time program and I know they get alot of apps. I signed up for the residual act because my math score was not high enough but I have a composite score 23. Well, the school contacted me and told me I only needed to take the teas v. Since I had already paid for the residual I went ahead and took it. I did really bad. I got a 18 composite score and a 15 in math. Way worse than the first time. Will this look bad to the reviewers? Do I still have a chance? I have to really do well on the teas v but I'm so bad at math and I freeze up on the test because I realize how I need the test. If I don't do well on my teas v on Jan. 20 I have to wait an entire year to apply again.

ADN Nursing school interview at Holmes Community College
Oh my, when did holmes start having a interview in the process? I got in about 3 years ago and didn't have to interview but I also got in their occupational therapy assistant program last year I did interview for it. It was formal yet laid back. It was only the director and her assistant and they asked question about scenarios and how I would handle them and why I wanted to be in the program. I also had to write a essay 30 minutes before the interview while I waited. Which nursing program is it, ridgeland or grenada?

Just can't get enough! Its Time.
That's the exact thing I want to do as well but if I get in the at our local University I'm gonna stop working and take it because that opportunity doesn't come around often.

Just can't get enough! Its Time.
I swear it crosses my mind DAILY. Ienvision myself doing so much as a nurse. I had a baby finished my undergraddegree in pre occupational therapy went to ot school for 3 months and quitbecause it was too hard working 12 hour night shifts and going to school 8hours every day. I want to become a nurse because it really fits me but...idkhow or when especially with the 2 year old, bills, and time but I want it. It'sto the point nothing else even interests me. I loved the set schedule that thenurses at the hospital I worked at had, but I was a prn monitor tech that wastreated like crap from my nursing manager. so off the subject sorry lol butreally I wrote to my local university and I plan on contacting the communitycollege with weekend and night programs to see if I could apply for it in about2 years but I gotta have it or die trying lol. I'm in a MBA program to keep mymind going but I'm probably going to end up leaving it when I get accepted tothe rn program or when it's time to take my gmat. I can save that money for mynclex. Sorry for ranting.

Money For Second Degree
Hello, I have been accepted into a program and I already have my bachelors degree. I am trying to see how do I pay for this. I went to a financial aid officer but she didn't want to talk to me and gave me a loan application and sent me out of her office. I am going to an orientation at our local WIN job center to see if I qualify for the WIA program but i don't think I do. What advice do you all have for paying for a 2nd degree? Thanks for your help.

BSN to OT? Possible?
hi!! I was sort of in your shoes but I wanted to become a nurse practitioner in orthopedics instead of going to occupational therapy school. The lines were entirely too long for nursing school plus my heart wasn't there. I decided to go ahead and go to occupational therapy assistant school (2 years) after I finished my degree. I finished my degree last year and I am starting the ota program in August. In my opinion its better to go this route since I already had a degree and family. After I work as a cota for a year I can bridge over to mot(master's in ot) online while working in a 16 month program. Hope I could help.

Do you ever feel like your not smart enough?
i feel this way at least twice a week. Then I realize if others have done it before me then I can do it too. i also think, Its takes a 8- to pass..I stopped trying the all A thing(I was a all A student in high school and my first year in college). My goal now is to get RN,MSN,DNP behind my name with hardwork and dedication. :) It'll get better and pay off in the end, just remember why your doing it.
