  1. PVT - works. Quick results today = Pass!
  2. Worked for me! Took it Tuesday, good pop up - got quick results today -pass!
  3. Still says the good pop up over 24 hours out. I think we're good!
  4. Thank you all! It was an odd test. It wasn't hard nor easy, more of a question of it being hard or easy, if that makes sense. For all of the questions, I was able to narrow it down to two, with about half leaving me feeling correct about my choice. I did not get any sound, only one picture question, one math calc, a lot of priority/delegation and infection control and only 4 SATA (yes, 4! I was sooo nervous about this!).
  5. Stopped at 75. Good pop up!
  6. I'll be testing tomorrow morning. A little nervous, but just trying to relax with a glass of wine. Planning on briefly (30 minutes) looking over my notes later tonight and then calling it a day. At this point, you either know it or you don't, right? Any last minute tips would be appreciated.
  7. For those who have taken the NCLEX, how many of your questions did you feel like you knew right off the bat or were able to easily deduce and answer? In contrast, how many did you feel as though you had no idea about the topic/question?
  8. Thanks for everyone's input! I've been doing Saunder's, part book and also the entire 4 week online review course. I've also been doing the La Charity book, will be finishing it a few days before the exam. Along with that, I have been utilizing random facts found throughout this forum and study guides posted as well. I also will be finishing the "Exam Cram" before the test. I think everyone is right, you just have to go in and do it. I am leaving for Vegas about a week after my exam, so I keep looking forward to that. There's no way I would postpone until after Vegas, I might lose quite a few brain cells over there .
  9. Does anyone know if the SATA questions are weighted on the NCLEX? For example, if there are 3 correct answers, and you get two correct, does it take it into account?
  10. I am taking my boards in a little over a week. I have been studying for a little over a month, am doing well as far as testing and answering questions as well as using a few study sources. I am not having a lot of trouble understanding the information or retaining it, I just feel like I don't know if I am prepared or not! Anyone else having this problem, either for those who have or will be taking the exam? I know it's hard to really feel confident since the test has such a wide array of possibilities, I guess I am just not used to feeling this way.
  11. It is intense, but you will catch your stride.
  12. And don't forget to pee :).
  13. From experience....breathe.
  14. I would finsh the since you are so close and then inquire about advanced options in nursing schools in your area. Good luck.
  15. That is a hard thing. No real words. Sorry to hear about that.
  16. I would try speaking to the financial aid office about general costs. They should be able to give you a break down.
  17. When you are going through hell, keep going. :)
  18. Without knowing the social context, I would assume they are just speaking about your physical appearance.
  19. As said, if finances are not a huge issue, enjoy the break while you can! If you really want to though, it would be great experience before nursing school and would help with some of the "jitters" that you may get as a student as you've had some experience.
  20. Congrats! Yes the student forum has been awesome, from the beginning to the end for me as well.
  21. Hello all - I am a TO graduate from Research College of Nursing and I am a part of the HCA loan program and I have a few questions for anyone who could help. As of now, I have no placement as a new graduate with HCA. Due to the combination of fellow student/graduate reports and researching via here, this has happened before. I have been offered a nursing position with another hospital not in the HCA network in Kansas City that I was a tech at during nursing school, and feel stuck in the middle via accepting a viable job offer now or waiting until HCA has something at some point to satisfy their requirements. I don't want to pass up this opportunity only to not get a job with HCA until goodness knows when. The loan states it will be forgiven if no placement is available, but the contract does not specifically state what the contingencies are on this statement. For example, how long must an applicant wait, how many job applications must one send in, etc. I have both spoken on the phone and emailed the headquarters in TN, only to be told that the loan program was eliminated/severely revamped since I acquired it and no real answers were given to me. I was told I'd have someone call me in regards, with no call being followed up on via their behalf. If anyone could give me some direction, it would be greatly appreciated, especially from any students who have shared this frustration and have gotten their loan forgiven due to no placement being available to them. What was the process to have the loan forgiven? Am I contacting the wrong area by trying to go through headquarters? etc. If you have any insight, please post or feel free to email me in private. Thank you!
