Surviving and PASSING A&P
I enjoyed A&P but it will consume alot of time studying. There is alot of memorization involved. Review what you learn everyday and make lots of copies of the things you need to label such as muscles bones, etc. I used sooooo much laser toner that quarter but it really helped to get it into my head. I started out with the notecards but I never really got into those, most of my friends use em tho=) Good luck and study hard

Prerequisites, Advice..Questions.
I took hybrid micro back in the spring and it wasnt hard at all. But then again I have a real gift for memorizatioin. To me the class was much easier than A&P requiring much less study time. I also have done math online in the past and those classes usually include some time of online lab that is super helpful. I will tell you that in my experience the online classes are more time consuming and contain more written assignments. Good luck in your decision=)

Is this CRAZY?--What do I drop?
Personally i wouldnt concern myself with taking Spanish, but if its important to you then go for it. As far as the load, i have been overloading for 3 quarters up until now with a full time job and 4 kids. Some can do it and others cannot. We all have different gifts in life =) U sound very intelligent, I think that you can handle that load=)

Columbus Technical College?
Retake any classes that you can but the nursing program at CTC only accepts the new grade if the class was first taken before a certain year. Maybe check with the department for details. I think the year was 2006 but Im not certain. I retook an English that i had previously taken back in 1989 and they accepted the new grade. Submit with your packet your very best scores. Take the NLN and compass more than once if needed. I went in there with a 4.0, 98 NLN and both 99s on the compass and i made it in. It is extremely competitive so do your very best! Several of my friends did not make it in with me =( so I'm looking forward to making some new ones at orientation on the 15th. Best of luck Jessica and work hard =) you can do it!

micro
I, myself, found Micro a breeze compared to A&P 1 and 2. I got A's in all 3 classes, but wayyyyy more studying went into the anatomies. =) guess everyone is different though

Is anyone else quitting their job one they enter the nursing program?
I own a gym and tanning salon and I will be selling it as soon as possible. Until that time, my oldest son will run the business for me.

NLN HELP!!!!
I took the NLN in late December. It is 3 parts: verbal, math and science. I found the verbal to be fairly easy as i read a good bit, most was just word comprehension with a few reading comprehension questions. The math was prealgebra with a heavy emphasis on fractions to decimals and vice versa. The science was really tough. I had maybe about 4 questions concerning biology and the rest was all physics! i have never taken physics. I did not study for the test because i felt that no matter what i studied the questions will be different. Maybe practice on some entry level algebra and decimals/fractions. Read up a bit on the simpler physics calculations and brush up on your vocabulary if you are not a reader. I scored 98% on the NLN. I was very happy with that score. My prayers are with you and I wish you the very best score possible

Scared about getting into program
Hi there!!! Thanks to all that are reading this!! I am applying for nursing school as we speak, and waiting for an interview atm. We had to take the NLN and reading/writing compass tests. I was told that they give equal weight to nln, compass reading/writing, gpa and interview I scored 98% on the NLN which is the score that my school goes by, I have 99 and 96 respectively on the reading/writing compass tests, and i have all a's on my prereqs except for an algebra that i have a b in from 20 years ago. What do you guys think my chances are of getting in? Im so nervous thanks in advance
