Is my International nursing degree accepted in the US?
i had my degree in the Philippines but i am an immigrant here in the US. i applied for CA BOARD. i just submitted all the requirements needed to them like my school records. i did not go to CGFNS. my application was approved and i had taken the nclex. i believe, if you are here in the US as tourist, not as an immigrant or citizen, your documents will be submitted to CGFNS for evaluation. Further, some states also required that school records will be evaluated to an accredited institution before they will approve your application. Try to google the board of nursing sites of the state you wish to take your boards so you will be guided accordingly.

you will nail it ciprea... believe in yourself and God's help. be sure to take breaks whenever you feel like.. do not be in a hurry in answering the questions. what i did, i tried to find the stem of the question, write it down in my white board, rephrase the question and analyze each option before answering. i never give any attention to the timer, i went on and on till i logged off at 75. If i made it on my third attempt, you will.. God bless you

Any tips on remembering Ventolin vs. Atrovent?
ventolin(salbutamol) is a beta-adrenergic agonist used mainly for bronchodilation with patients who has asthma. ATrovent is an anticholinergic which opens the lungs by relaxing the muscles around the airways which acts also to dry up mucus production within the nose. The content of atrovent which is ipratropium is a derivative of atropine. It provides almost a complete protection against bronchospasm induced by a variety of agents. its therapeutic effect is most pronounced in COPD patients. hope this will help you

HELP!!! Its been 2yrs since ive graduated and still havent passed NCLEX
@catherine: i graduated 2008 from the philippines. it has been a couple of years since my nursing school. what i did is to read the saunders book 5th edition cover to cover. study the disc as well with nclex 4000. I used saunders and nclex 4000 for my content review. I purchased LaCharity for prioritization, nclex cram review book and nclex cram practice questions. I have read and practiced in every resources that i have. I spend most of my time reading, practicing questions, reading and understanding the rationale. With all my study hours, i always begin it with my prayers on god's guidance. I passed.. hope you will as well. I prepared for 3 months.

Urgent! Clarification needed
@HEALTHCARESTUDENT: If the patient is taking Coumadin (sodium warfarin) it is important that you should check the PT or the INR: PT is 10-12 seconds and the therapeutic level should be 1.5-2 x the control value (10-12 seconds) INR is 2 to 3 if i am not mistaken if the patient is taking heparin , it is tha aPTT which you should check: aPTT is 30-45 minutes (control) and to have a therapeutic level it should be within 1.5-2 x the control . hope this will help you.
