I spoke to the nurse recruiter. She said there were only 6 spots.

Nursing Home RN experience is not an acute care experience but still an RN experience. Some hospitals hire nurses with at least 1 year RN experience and some specifically requires an acute care experience.

I worked as temporary/part time in a medical office doing front office job and just recently became unemployed. I really hope to get an RN job soon though.

I feel for you. It's really hard getting an RN job in an acute care setting in this economy. But keep applying and stay positive, just like what I've been doing lately. Goodluck!

Yup the Pearsonvue trick really works~ I did it too!

I am a graduate from an accelerated program who only accepts 18 applicants per cohort. Based on my experience (on the selection process) your GPA on the previous degree + the pre-requisites must be 3.0 or greater, and write an excellent essay/letter of intent. My GPA was 3.71, no clinical/hospital experience, and my first bachelors degree was in business. I agree with Atomicwoman - the grades on your pre-requisites are critical.
