HELP! Having trouble in fundamentals and need advice!
There is a book called Fundamentals Succes by Patricia Nuget and Barbara Vitale that helped me and my classmates study and prepare for the exams. It also gives you rationales as to why that answer is the right answer. Nursing exams require great critical thinking skills so its different from the other tests that we are accustomed to taking. I hope that helps and don't give up...you can do this!

I Want To Be An Nurse But.......
I do not attend Gordon but I did take my pre reqs at Macon state. I am not in any way telling you what to do but I would go ahead and attend Gordon College. You may as well get your RN if you can. There are plenty of people who take out loans for college and when you finish the RN program you will have a steady job that will enable you to pay them back. Go for it girl!!!

Troy University Montgomery Campus?
Getting into the program is the easy part but believe me once you are in it gets hard. I just finished my first semester and boy was it tough. The professors there are very helpful but at the same time you must know your stuff. It takes 4 semesters to complete the program.

Anyone attending or attended Troy University Montgomery ADN Program
If you already have a degree you will not have to take the NET exam. I didn't!

White Pants Underwear Woes
I've learned whenever you wear white bottoms you should wear black underwear. Wear solid black underwear, you shouldn't notice your underwear. Try it and see! Hope that helped.

Gordon College Acceptance?
Anyone else waiting to hear back from Gordon College? I took the NET test in January and I did pretty good; just waiting for a yay or nay letter.

Any acceptances to Georgia Perimeter?
I don't look at it at being a much better school because if I get into GPC I will definetly leave GSU. I think someone will have something horrible to say about every nursing school. Just do what you have to do to obtain your goal. Again Congratulations!

Any acceptances to Georgia Perimeter?
No, I haven't. I do not think that I got in. But I am not worried I'll try again next semester if not. If I do have to wait to apply in the fall I will also be finished with all my pre-reqs for my BSN at Georgia State in the fall. So I am trying to look at the bigger picture and not get my hopes up!

***Fall '05 A & P II Club***
Hi, My name is Tiffany and last week was the first week of A & P for me. We are on the digestion system right now and we just dissected fetal pigs in lab today. It seems like it will be an ok class but it's a lot of reading and memorization. It's going to be a long semester.

Nursing school in Macon/Warner Robbins area
I am a pre nursing student that attends Georgia State but I attended Macon tate before attending GSU. I took A & P at Macon State and it was incredibly tough. Everyone in the nursing program that I talked to said that they try and make their program real tough. (I don't know why!) I would recommend Gordon College my cousin went through their nursing program after leaving Macon State and she loved it. She said it was tough but they assisted you and did not make it unattainable like Macon State.

GPC Nursing Students
How long did it take for you to hear that you were accepted for the nursing program? I applied for the spring 2006 class and I met the priority deadline but I have not heard anything from them yet. I am kinda nervous because I don't know what to expect. Thanks

Textbooks and teachers aside...how's it really going?
I think the reason for no response is because this is the student forum and no one has really started their career yet. At least speaking for myself, if I knew the answers to the questions I could respond. I am still taking my pre-reqs. Sorry I could not be much help!

Miami Nursing Schools.. Help
The NET exam is the nursing entrance test that some schools require you to take before acceptance. It covers reading, reading speed, basic math, and asks you questions about yourself. I am taking it on November 13.

The fingernail police!!
I have worn acrylic nails since I was 15 and now I am 22 and I always thought that real nails scratched worse and easier than fake nails. I agree with everyone about hygiene but as long as your nails are a short length I don't see anything wrong with wearing acrylics. You can't really get that bad of a scratch from acrylic which is rounded plastic! If a hospital I worked at told me I had to take them off then I would but other than that I would keep them clean and at a reasonable length.
