I can only offer true feedback on Texas Government. That was loaded class, not hard , but very time consuming. Heavy on reading assignments and discussions, with a couple research papers thrown in along with weekly quizzes. That's just the one class. I imagine US History to be about the same. You have 3 classes to take along with a full time job and a family to take care. I say with the help and support of your stay at home dad and meticulous planning all three may be doable at the same time.

I'm currently enrolled in the RN-BSN online program. To add to what "Texophilia" mentioned; research papers, case studies,and yes discussion board questions with responses, quizzes. There is also a weekly journal to do. It's very involved but it's doable.. Good luck!

So I just wanted to give an update on what has happened since the unfortunate situation with this INA... I called my CC company and disputed the charges and am happy to say that I got my money back. Nothing this "association" promised was legit . Nothing . I will never fall victim to that kind of scheme again. just ugh!

OMG... you mean I got bamboozled????... I was wondering how they got my information, and they made it sound so legit. The website is scarce and seems like a low end facebook page. I'm like literally trembling. I knew I should done a bit more research before I fell for what they were selling. I was sooo desparate because I've been job hunting for 2 and half mnths and can't find work .. and they sold me on the line of having network connections and scholarships and the works.. and of course when I get my login info.. it's like a joke..

If you're lucky you may get to see just a snippet of that. The professors will try to get the patients that will give you as much exposure as possible to what you're learning. That's not always the case. Sometimes you go on a unit and all is quite or not much to do,or the patient may be too unstable to be assigned to you. Or you'll be doing nothing but giving meds and all that's on your mind is that you don't screw up with 5 rights of medicaton administration.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.. from day one you will learn very quickly that TIME MANAGEMENT is a must.. for the next 2 years( 4 semesters) you will find that managing your time wisely will come of great help in having enough time to UNDERSTAND the material being taught. Socializing will be few and far between. A good study partner(who's totally focused) may be beneficial. But it'll be of your own accord how much you put into being comfortable with the material being taught. If you can get a head with practicing nclex questions.. then you'll be off to a good start. Critical thinking is the mindset you'll have to acquire as you're going through this program. It's not easy but the further you get the more comfortable you'll be with the concept. I don't think they'll have much of a choice in that Gabby. The professors are switching around like crazy.

Yes I'm in Level 2. hmmm the first week of clinicals .. if you've never worked in the medical field before (which I haven't ) it'll be exciting and new. You'll be practicing in the school lab on mannequins before you're actually in the hospital setting.( you have to pass a number of validations before you do go to the hospital for clinicals). If for no other advice heeded, heed this one.. practice practice practice.. You'll be doing tons of validations for most of the semester. if you can go on saturdays to the lab and practice that's great, if you can manage it go during the day as well that's great. If not just practice at home.. use your family members as practice patients. Any practice you can get to be comfortable with procedures by the time you have to film validations will help. By the way I work full time 40+ hrs/wk and I'm in teh program.. it can be done.. but you just have to know how to manage your time well. And you will learn that much as you go along. Good luck!

Congratulations to all those who got accepted to the spring evening program.. get ready to sacrifice lots of social time for study time... it's a good program.. it's a rewarding program but it's a very very intense program, no room for slip ups.. again congratulations

oh nice!!... we still have no clue what our schedule will be.. i'm really hoping i can get the 5:30pm on wed/thurs, that's the only one I signed up for. As for Pharm, did that on Monday.... not bad at all.. my major worry is our first test coming up on Tuesday.. we have Phys assess and basic skills the same night..... it's now 4am.. it's gonna be a looooong wknd

I asked the secretary about that when I went to drop off required docs. I was told orientation is the first day of classes which is essentially 1/24

Hey Gabby I purchased a uniform set and I also purchased the jacket and yes the jacket does have the patch

FYI.. for those who have not mailed/dropped off your order form for the nuring kit... Today's the deadline.. I dropped mine off at the place this morning on my way to work...hehehe
