  1. I have a friend who taught at ITT. The Board is shutting them down for numerous violations the notes are on the BON web sit for the last meeting. Rumor is Everest is not going to get approval either. Check with the BON before signing. Cost 40-50 thousand. Wait for CSN it's a much better education then the buy-a-degrees and more respect from other nurses.
  2. The old saying "as nurses we eat our young" is obiously alive and well. These nurses are propitiating old sterotypes and must feel threatened. If you have to bit the bullet the experience is worth it. Soon you won't be the newbee and you can break the cycle.
  3. Just enrolled in EC BSN. Only need 15 units Gen Ed and will finish that this semester. Than on to the nursing core. Just didn't want to deal with transfering thing anywhere else. Looked at Fort Hayes State it was my second choice really cheap 165 a credit. I looking for anyone else doing EC BSN program.
  4. I have an ADN from Excelsior. My coworkers at the SNF called me the "internet" nurse. I was the charge nurse working with all LPN's. Many were foreign educated BSN who couldn't pass the boards. I interviewed with one hospital who said Excelsior nurse don't do well. I didn't let this stop me. Fast forward 6 years and no one cares where my degree came from. Get your RN any way you can. The jobs will follow. Nurses eat their young be tough and your hard work will pay off.
  5. I am a night on call hospice nurse for a large hospice. If you have any questions please feel free to email me [email protected]
  6. The nurse worked with me at a SNF here in Las Vegas. He graduated from Excelsior in 09. took the boards in Nevada. After 1 year he applied to CA BON for endorsement and was licsensed. Let me know how it goes. I may want to go back someday.
  7. I am in Nevada and one of our nurses endosed in after only 1 year of experience as an RN. Please keep us posted.
  8. Ebay TCN study guides are less than $50 each. Chancellor guides also show up once in awhile. I used both and did well on the exams. There are several yahoo groups to help you along the way. Good luck and happy studying:nurse:
  9. I completed EC RN program in 2006. I was a certified medical assistant when I entered the RN program (not an LPN). It was hard but I completed the program in one year. Pass the boards the first time. I have been a RN for five years best decision I ever made. Do not let people knock the program down. I out perform many of my local brick and mortar community college and university graduates.
  10. It's great. I stayed at Studio 6 about 46.00 a night. I was ok right by Walmart.
  11. I bought most of mine from ebay used paid about 50.00 each. I also used EC free guides and bought older editions of some textbooks. It worked for me good luck
