  3. I am a nurse in NYC and planning on moving to central oregon as soon as I finish up my FNP program. OREGON is an amazingly beautiful state! I look forward to my move within a couple of years.
  4. CONGRATS!!!!! I start my FNP program this Fall and I have already purchased certification review books.

  6. I was accepted to LIU's FNP program yesterday. I can't wait to get started. Congrats to all those accepted.
  7. Took two weeks
  8. Hi, I did not purchase the practice exam from the NLN. I only reviewed the practice test from NYP in collaboration with the text they recommended. You'll do fine. Format is the only similarity. The text did help tremendously. Good luck.
  9. THANKS! I purchased the text they recommended (Pharmacology 2nd edition Reviews & Rationales by Prentice Hall) found at your nearest bookstore. I did take the practice test provided by the hospital. It gave me an idea of how the exam is formatted. Yes, it was extremely helpful. There are so many drugs to memorize however, all you need to do is bunch the meds into categories and memorize them as so. Know administration considerations, side effects, adverse effects, nursing considerations, and client education. Good luck!
  10. Hi! THANKS! You are given a practice pharm exam once you receive your official job offer letter. You are not officially hired pending pre-employment requirements which include pharm exam, drug test, medical history, etc. The interview process took too long... Sent resume in July, didn't get the official job offer till the end of December. GOOD LUCK! Keep me updated! AriRN
  11. I PASSED! WOOHOO!!!! Basic pharm exam. No biggie! What a relief.
  12. I appreciate your kind words MsQueensRN!
  13. Yes it is! Thanks for the congrats!
  14. Thanks! :)
  15. Bump...
  16. Yes they did. When I applied several years ago, I took the pharm exam prior to interviewing with anyone. I guess things have changed a bit.
  17. Hey folks... Happy New Year to all! With this New Year comes a new job. I accepted a position at New York Presbyterian Hospital (Cornell). The interview process took several months but I was finally offered a pediatric position at this GREAT hospital. I am extremely excited to get started. I do have a dilemma. I've heard nightmares about the pre-employment pharmacology exam sponsored by the NLN. I am reviewing old textbooks and made up some medication flashcards but still feel somewhat overwhelmed. Are there any nurses out there who have taken this exam recently? If so, I would appreciate any feedback. NOTE: I am aware of the old threads about this subject. (OLD THREADS). Thanks again for your time. Ari RN
  18. Did u feel that???? I gave u a virtual kick in the butt! Now go open a review book! :-)
  19. Yes you are! ;-) The NCLEX-RN can ask you anything. I wouldn't want to hear you say in a month or so...... I failed the NCLEX-RN. I should have studied. You've done the hard part (school). Don't give up now! Finish it off with a BANG!!!!!!
  20. When I entered my RN-BSN program I needed to take: Statistics English Literature History Anthropology and the nursing courses: nursing theory, physical assessment, community nursing, nursing leadership and 3 nursing electives. Took me 2 1/2 years to complete my BSN. I also worked full time.
  21. ADN- 25 yrs BSN-28 yrs
  22. CONGRATS!!!!!
  23. The above comments are funny but extremely TRUE! The program is doable but extremely intense. Say goodbye to your social life. It will resurrect after graduation. READ, READ, READ, APPLY what you READ in different scenarios. Good Luck! Beware drill sergeant Morris......! She's a sweetheart deep, deep, deep, deep down. She means well!!!!! Graduating class of 2004! ASN (BCC) Graduating class of 2007! BSN (Hunter)
  24. Congratulations on passing your exam!
