Anyone traveling to NCH in Naples this winter?
Hey!! So I came across NCH seasonal nursing jobs a few months ago and have been thinkin about it ever since but wasn't sure if this was a good opportunity. Plus I didn't want to get stuck down there for 6 months by myself with nothing to do!! How many of you are officially going? Also, I'm curious how this housing works since it sounds like I would be applying late? I thought they gave an $800 stipend, was I mistaken? Thanks for any input!!!

New grad who wants to be ICU, pls help!
I applied and got a job offer at MCCG --The Medical Center of Central Georiga in Macon GA. I applied before I even graduated and flew down for the interview just shortly after graduation. I applied and had a call within in a week for 2 different positions. I also didn't take boards until awhile after I had the job offer

New grad who wants to be ICU, pls help!
I just graduated May 2011 and applied for a few jobs in Georgia and got an offer in the ICU...so I took it! I am actually a bit nervous now, but there was no way I could turn down an offer like that. I know a couple other students that I graduated with that had offers in the ICU as well...It all just depends on where. Also, mine is a teaching hospital so that may have made a difference? Good luck!

Don't know what to do (job offer)
If you could PM me that would be great! Why is it you decided to not take the job if you don't mind me asking

Don't know what to do (job offer)
What are the benefits for MCCG? I have an interview coming up but I am just kind of curious as to what they are. I am unable to find anything listed on the website and I noticed $2000 keeps being mentioned. Is that a sign on bonus?

ANC Nov Board & M5 ID
I haven't heard from my recruiter either and I am getting really worried...and ANXIOUS!! I just want the results already...Everyone keeps telling me no news is good though. I guess that's one way to look at it!

ANC Nov Board & M5 ID
Oh my gosh that is a LOT of applicants?!?! Is the the number FOR SURE?! My recruiter originally told me that there were 100 spots available but now I keep hearing there are only 50. Over 400 applicants in NUTS!

ANC Nov Board & M5 ID
Congrats to both of you!!!! That is so exciting!!! I am going nuts here knowing people are finding out left and right!!!!!!!

ANC Nov Board & M5 ID
I haven't heard a THING from my recruiter yet. I just e-mailed him again today...I am getting really nervous. Maybe they said no to me right away because I will be a young new grad with no nursing or military experience =S So anxious!

ANC Nov Board & M5 ID
My recruiter told me that I should know by Thanksgiving...but from what I keep hearing everyone is saying it took much longer last year. I am keeping my fingers crossed my recruiter is right though!!

Is this your second time applying? ...and it took a month and a half? My recruiter said that he thought we should have answers for sure before Thanksgiving.

Hmmm I don't think I am going that route. I won't be getting money while I am finishing up my last few months of school. I will be commissioned as soon as I pass my NCLEX and will leave next August. I am going to be getting the loan repayment of up to $120,000. I wouldn't be upset about getting into that program and getting a monthly stipend my last few months though that is for sure! As long as I am still gettin my loan repayment

ANC Nov Board & M5 ID
Hmmm I guess I'm not sure about that. My recruiter just told me that my package is going to be going to the November 16th boards and I will be going against new nurses as well as experienced. He also stated that they are taking 100 new nurses this year which I didn't think was much, but if I am only going to get a shot at 1 out of 10 slots that is really concerning! He never mentioned anything about that to me.

Maybe I am clueless but is what is the difference between the Army Nurse Corps and Army Nurse Candidate program? I am 22 and going to be graduating in May but my recruiter made it sound like I was going to the same board as experienced nurses and other new nurses. If it is a new grad program and that is the only thing they will consider me for I am really nervous because that is NOT many people!!

I want to be an Air Force Nurse
This is true...I was in the process of working on my application and was just informed today they arent taking new nurses BUT there is a board for NTP scheduled april 5th...there is a chance this will be cancelled as well tho

How Competitive is the Army Nurse Corps
Hey! I actually just met with my recruiter today to sign my package and get it sent off for the November 16th board! SO EXCITED! He told me they are taking 100 applicants, which to me sounds crazy competitive because that is nationwide. I am going to be graduating May 2011 with my BSN--No prior military or nursing experience. I am a traditional undergrad student so I am a total newbie. I expressed my concerns with not getting accepted and he told me (but it might his job) that he think I have a good chance. Being young and not having "bad habits" will look good and they will like that. I am really curious to see how many people are actually applying. It is scary that is so competitive but we can only hope for the best!

Air Force Update
Yes, the April board was for NTP April 5th I believe he said with an application cutoff of march 8th. My Army package was sent to the boards today so that is already rolling. I just really want to do military nursing--Plus it makes me really nervous that they might push the boards back AGAIN. If it comes down to it and I do end up enjoying being a military nurse I might transfer branches. I am probably still going to try for the Air Force and NTP. It is such a letdown knowing that they cancelled it! Are you graduating this May?

Air Force Update
I e-mailed him asking about it yesterday and he just got back to me saying that they did in fact cancel the board but have one scheduled for April 2011 with a deadline in March...Bummer! Kind of glad I had looked into the Army and applying to that as well. I really had my heart set on the Air Force but I guess there isn't much we can do!

ANC Nov Board & M5 ID
I just met with my recruiter today and signed all my forms and my package is off to boards. YAY!!!! He was telling me that the deadline is November 2nd and that if there is anything wrong with my packet it will be sent back from people that are doing the initial look-over...Then we can fix anything and have it sent back. He did tell me that there is only one board for this year and the next one is in February. There are going to be 100 nurses that they take this year--but has anyone been told how many total applicants there are going to be? I am feeling like this is going to be really competitive! Nonetheless, I am SO excited!!! This wait is going to be BRUTAL!!

Air Force Update
My recruiter is located out of Nebraska. I believe he is in charge of six states. I am not working as a registered nurse yet. I am going to be graduating May 2011 so I am suppose to be applying for the NTP board and I believe RN's with experience are going on a separate board. My recruiter has been INCREDIBLY difficult to get a hold of and I hope it isn't him just ignoring me and not wanting to break the bad news! But the last week in September we were getting ready to set up an interview for November...This is frustrating, I would really like to know whats going on for sure! I wish they would keep us in the loop more!!

ANC Nov Board & M5 ID
I am going to be graduating in May 2011 with my BSN and am currently in the process of finishing up my package. I am actually suppose to meet with my recruiter to sign it today. He told me they were taking about 50 new nurses...Is that false information or different from what everyone else is hearing? I am also going to the boards on November 16th...
