  1. Hi all, I just wanted to come back and let yall know that I found a job and started mid-september...so there IS hope. To those who are still looking, keep it up I know you will find one! good luck and best wishes!
  2. I graduated from my BSN program in May and am still looking for a full-time job/internship, so yes the job market is horrible right now! If you have the funds to start a nursing program I think you should but def go for a BSN because I've seen many positions requiring a bachelor's. And if possible I would work as a tech while in nursing school because that's your best bet on getting a job when you graduate. good luck!
  3. any luck guys? I still havn't heard anything.
  4. if it's a zoo in the hospitals, then it's a jungle in the candidate pool. I graduated in may 2010 and still no job offers.
  5. Good luck to you guys on your jobs! I graduate in May 2010 but havn't heard a word from any recruiter. =(
  6. Another factor to consider is the difficulty getting a job when you get out. I graduate in May 2010 and I'm still looking for a job in the DFW area. There is a nursing shortage and unfortunately there is also a shortage in graduate jobs as well.
  7. I'm from Texas (DFW area), graduate May 2010 and still havn't found a job. awsmfun--i havn't looked at the statistics but that sounds to be likely!
  8. my suggestion for passing the nclex would be enrolling in a kaplan course if that is an option for you. 3 weeks before i took my nclex i buckled down and did all the question trainers and 1000+ q bank questions and reviewed the rationale for all the questions whether i missed it or not. i am also struggling to find a job and i'm from the dfw area. it sucks! i have loans to pay and i've literally applied to every position possible and havn't heard from any of them. good luck to you when you retake the nclex.
  9. I am in the same boat as many of you. I graduate in May 2010 with a BSN and I have gotten my RN but still no luck with landing even an interview. Btw I'm from the DFW area so for those struggling to find a job all I have to say is good luck.
  10. I graduated in May and I'm still looking for a job! What is going on? Isn't there a nursing shortage? I am so bummed that I've graduate and passed my boards and am without a job. I've applied to so many places I've lost track. Anyone with some suggestions for the DFW or surrounding area opportunities? thanks!
  11. Thanks for your advice, but it is so hard to meet people and network when no one will let you in or talk to you. It's so frustrating.
  12. The pearson vue trick worked for me, I checked it right after I got home and I got the pop-up indicating that I could not register for the NCLEX at that time and three days later I check the Texas BON and I was licensed. No need to pay for the quick results! Now I'm on to the next struggle---finding a job!
  13. Hi all! I recently passed the NCLEX and my best advice to all who are taking it the first time or the tenth time is to do practice questions, go over the rationale and understand why the answer is the correct one. I did Kaplan---all the question trainers and 300+ Qbank questions 3 weeks before my test and after 75 questions, I'm finally an RN. And don't forget--prayers! Best of luck to all!
