  1. Hey everyone! Just wondering if there are any nurses on here that have worked/are working at JPS in Fort Worth. I graduated in May 2010 with my associates in nursing and am very interested in JPS. I am currently working in a long term care facility and have for the past 2 1/2 years( I graduated as an LVN back in 2007). Anyway, if anyone has any thoughts, things you like, don't like, or just general info, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the input! I am currently still working in a long term care facility. I think I am going to apply at JPS because I really want to be in the hospital setting. I saw where there are quite a few positions in PCU I believe, so maybe it will work out. Good luck with the new job and congratulations!

Does anyone have any thoughts on JPS for a new grad? It seems internships are hard to come by, as I was informed that they filled their spots back in March! I would like to be in the ER or ICU someday, so does anyone have any advice as to what would be the best route? Should I apply for a med-surg position or maybe PCU for now and then apply for an internship when they are available?
  6. Does anyone have an opinion about the incredibly easy RN NCLEX review book and also the question and answer book that goes along with it? I am testing in about 5 weeks. Has anyone used these to prepare for the NCLEX RN?

Hey everyone. I will be graduating next week, and will take my NCLEX-RN soon after. Any thoughts on a new grad in ICU? Do you recommend it, or should I get some med-surg experience first? I did my preceptor in SICU and LOVED it! I know thats where I want to end up, but is it wise to start there?
  9. Does anyone have any advice/thoughts/info on the nurse internships at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, TX. I will be graduating in 3 weeks, and after hopefully passing boards will be looking for a job. I know JPS is known to be a teaching hospital, and I am very interested. I would love to hear from anyone! Thanks!
  10. Hey everyone! I have a couple of questions that I hope you all might be able to answer. First, how long in advance did you start studying, and do you think it is reasonable to schedule my NCLEX RN for the first of June if I haven't started reviewing yet. I plan to start reviewing 4-26-10. Thanks!!
