I had the same issue with finding a job winter2010. Dont give up. I have one year experience now and just applied to Baylors internship. They still wont hire me without the internship. Good luck!!!

UPDATE! I passed boards in February so I was able to apply to this round of June internships with my nursing license. I got a job at an urgent care center. I really appreciate the experience this is giving me because of gap of being out of the clinical setting. I recently got an offer for a Critical Care Internship and couldn't be more excited about it!!! If any other new grad reads this, I just want you to know DONT GIVE UP!! Too many people told me i wouldnt find a job in critical care with this tough market for new grads. I am soo grateful for the advice and support this forum has given me.:)

I would like to clear up some of the rumors about Langston-Tulsa. The nursing program was never put on probation. They were up for review of accreditation in fall of 2010 and it was renewed.(every 10 years) As with many nursing schools there is some disorganization and some self teaching but ultimately it is up to the students to make the most of their education. The attrition rate could be better but I completed the program in two years. Langston has made numerous positive changes in the curriculum and the pass rate has significantly improved. Some positive aspect include: lower cost of tuition, you have the option to be a part-time student, it is a smaller program compared to most so its really like a family.

Did you get the job? And if so how do you like the hospital so far? Im still looking for a job and would like an insiders point of view

Hi, I have recently graduated from nursing school (Last week!!) and I have yet to get an interview for a hospital in Dallas. I am from Oklahoma but have established residence in Dallas. I need a job.I started applying for internships in October. I have applied to numerous internships with Parkland, Baylor, Presbyterian, Methodist, Centennial, Medical City, and so on. Please if anyone has any information about what I am doing wrong? Some questions I would like answers to: Is an internship my only option as a new grad prior to NCLEX? How long is the average wait time to be contacted for an interview? Is there any contact person i need to get in touch with? Any and all information is welcome!

I too am curious how long it takes to get a reply. I applied October 1st for Parkland Graduate nurse and have made numerous attempts to contact the recruiter with no success. Please those of you who have received a reply: How long did you wait?? Thanks!
