  1. Scheduled to start MSN in Leadership and Management 4/18.
  2. I too am interested in seeing how others answer
  3. I just got my acceptance letter! :) Happy dance!!!!!
  4. Congrats! Very happy for you!
  5. I feel like time is standing still! I haven't gotten the dreaded reject email, so I keep waiting for the snail mail to arrive. Of course, the mail is running late today, its usually here by now! I run to look out the window every time I hear a car drive by. Where the heck is the mailman!
  6. I think I am wearing out the rug pacing back and forth! I know I should be hearing something. I am going crazy with anticipation! My email hates me for checking it so frequently!
  7. I just applied to a school where below 76% is a fail. I heard that this standard is set because if you can't get above 76% in school you would fail the NCLEX.
  8. I am waiting. I should hear something this week or next. Crossing my fingers. Applied for a BSN program. Can't wait to hear back! The days are dragging!
  9. OMG! You have to wait until late April?! Yikes! I know what you mean about checking, you know nothing has changed, but you just can't help but look. You never know, there could be some sort of sign.
  10. I will be submitting my application in the next couple of days to get into the nursing program at the local University. Just wanted to see if anyone else is doing the same so we can wait out our "acceptance" letters together.
  11. Oh, micro and both A&P's were a prerequisite at my college. Had my first lecture today. Doesn't seem too bad with the information that was introduced today, some vocab (not complex; easier than A&P) but rather interesting. I will keep you posted on how things progress. My first quiz is on the 23rd which will be here before I know it. My professor is great, he records his lectures and uploads them so the class to download from blackboard!
  12. Chemistry is a lot of math. I took my Chemistry during a summer. I broke a few fingers and sprained my wrist a few weeks into the semester, was in a lot of pain and managed to survive. I had to do my practical one handed , needless to say, having the chemistry helps further on done the line. A lot of the courses will also brush up a bit on the chemistry a bit just to help refresh everyone. I wouldn't worry too much.
  13. CinDRnyc, Ooo, your taking Patho online, that sounds brave. Mine is a bit of a hybrid even though I didn't sign up for a hybrid, that is just how my professor runs his classes. We will submit homework, quizzes and exams online. He likes to reserve "in" class time strictly for lectures. My class starts on Tuesday, so I will keep you posted. Side note: I noticed in another thread you mentioned you are taking Intro to Statistics, I am taking that also. I am a bit nervous because my DH keeps calling it Sadistics and he has a financial degree. Maybe he is just being a pill and trying to freak me out. I am usually pretty good at math, so........ we will see.
  14. Hi CinDRnyc, Glad to see I am not the only one taking on a big class load! We should keep in touch during the semester. I will check out your Patho thread.
  15. That sounds like an interesting take on index/note cards. I usually print off cards but never thought of trying something like what you described, I just might try that.
  16. Your professors have posted their syllabuses?! Lucky you! I start on Monday and I am waiting for the syllabuses to be posted. I will just kick back with my hubby this week-end. He is starting a second masters program on Monday, so we will be pretty busy this semester.
  17. My semester starts Jan. 9th. I am taking 17 credits Intro to Computers, Spanish, Stats, Pathophysiology, and because of moving from one state to another I am also taking Bio for health sciences w/lab. I have already taken my Pysc. classes, Englishes, A&P 1 &2, Microbiology,Human Nutrition, Bio-medical ethics and numerous other electives.
  18. Thank-you!!!!!!:kiss This is awesome!
  19. I am taking Pathophysiology this semester and would like to get some input from those who have already taken the class. Are there any extra books you recommend I should get to help supplement this class? And compared to A&P and micro, how would you rate the difficulty of the class on a scale of 1-10; 10 being very hard and 1 being easy. I appreciate any input. TIA
  20. :) Wow! These are great! Thank-you so much! Also, feel free to add any information outside of the questions I asked. Anything and everything is helpful. Much appreciated!
  21. I am PreNursing and am working on a paper about a social groups in society, so, I decided to write about nursing students. Nursing students who have been accepted into a nursing program and are experiencing the rigors of large books, clinical, endless studying, you get my drift. I have several questions listed, answer as few or as many as you would like. Obviously, the more answered the better. Before you answer, I just want to inform you that I will need to cite you as a source, but I can use your username. If you prefer, you can send me the information via PM so the whole world can't see how you answered. Thank-you! 1)What advice would you give to someone who has yet to be accepted into a nursing program? 2)Is there any advice that you were given that you choose to ignore or actually followed? What was this advice and why did or didn't you follow it? 3)In what ways has nursing school affected your life socially? 4)If you had to do it over, what would you change? 5)What are your favorite aspects of being in Nursing school and what are you least favorite? 6)If you have a family (hubby/wife, and kids) how has this affected them/you? 7)How do you balance Nursing school and your family? 8)How did you become interested in going into nursing school? 9)What type of ancillary products did you purchase to help keep organized? What did you buy that turned out to be useless? 10)(This one may be a sensitive question) How are you managing to pay for your school? Scholarship, loans? 11)Is nursing school costing more/less than you initially projected? 12)What can you not live without, that is helping you get through?
  22. 2+years! Do they still have this waiting list?! I have a good GPA; they don't require they HESI where we live right now, so I will have to look into this test. I really hope they still don't have that long of a waiting list.
  23. My husband is in negotiations with a company and we may end up relocating to NM. The closest CC in the area would be CNM. I have been taking all my pre and co-requisites where we currently live and would be applying for the ADN in the spring but now might have to apply at CNM if we relocate. So, what can anyone tell me about the RN program at CNM, good, bad? I have never been to New Mexico and don't know how different it is to get into nursing programs there, any info you can tell me will be greatly appreciated.
