Interim Health
Just wondering how it worked out for you with Interim Health Care. I have been seriously considering home care nursing. Other nurses have warned me about other homecare agencies to stay far away from, but I have not heard anything negative about Interim. Do they treat their nurses good? Do they have a steady case work load?

Preceptor problems
You should definetly make the unit manager / supervisor aware of the situation. She has no right to speak to you like that or make you feel badly. I am sure that some nurses would say, well at least you are getting an orientation and keep your mouth shut, but I am a firm believer in speaking the truth. I am finding out by reading through different posts on here, just how nasty some nurses can be in the work place and it just keeps going on and on. Please do not let this happen to others. JMHO

How bad is it when consents are wrong?
I agree with locolorenzo22. It is a big deal, as consents always have to be signed, especially if something were to happen, then you are covered they knew the risks and were given a complete explaination prior to the procedure/chemo.

Nurses setting up other nurses!
I would really like to know if other nurses working LTC have ever heard of nurses setting up other nurses in LTC facilities? Is this a common practice if the nurses who have been there do not welcome the idea of new nurses being hired. I must be out of the loop or something, but I just heard about this happening in a Cleveland facility from a reliable source. I am appauled that this goes on. Any one experience this happening to them? What are your thoughts. Can this really happen without the DON and/or the administrator not really being aware? After all, are they not suppose to know what is going on in their facility?

All I am going to say, is you will be surprized and NOT in a good way. Anyone with a true passion for nursing and who truly care about doing the right thing, do not waste your time. Just remember there are many other facilities around.
