  1. I think I will just take it first and get it over with. I hate being videotaped. Just hate it, so I am not thrilled about it. That is the only reason I am so upset about taking it.
  2. Thank you for your sympathy. I guess, I just was frustrated with the fact that it was changed on me. Just want to be done faster and move on to NP.
  3. I meant, half way through the program
  4. So, I had my final intake interview done in the end of August, all my transcripts were done and evaluated and I was ready to start in October, 2014 with my RN to BSN program. BUT, I received a call from my adviser today and she told me that there will be changes to my transcripts evals. Everyone has to take Health Assessment now, starting October 1, 2014. As of right now they accepted my Health assessment classes (I took two from Carrington college and 1 from Chamberlain College). Now they are not going to take it and I will be receiving the updated transcript evaluations. I think it is total cow poop. If they already accepted mine they should leave it alone. Does it mean that if along the way when they have changes they will make them half way the program? I DO NOT WANT TO TAKE THAT STUPID ASSESSMENT CLASS FOR THE FOURTH TIME!!!!!!!! Sorry, just complaining.
  5. Hello everyone. I am currently taking second class at chamberlain college for my bsn and I am thinking about transferring to a different school. Chamberlain is way too expensive for me and also, I do not feel like I am learning a lot, unfortunately. My plan is to apply to crna school after I am done with my bsn, but I am not sure if 3.0 gpa will let me get in that was one of the reasons I went with chamberlain. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you guys.
  6. How the heck did you finish so fast??? Any tricks, suggestions, advice will be greatly appreciated :)
  7. Thank you for response. So is it like excelsior than? You study material on your own and then test?
  8. Thank you so much for such a great topic! It has been a pleasure to virtually follow your journey through RNA school! I am trying to chose RN to BSN program at this moment and I am hoping to be done with all the necessary requirements for RNA program by 2016. I know I need one year of experience at ICU, but I am thinking I might be more comfortable with more than one year. Also, I need to take chemistry and physics as well. So I have some time to enjoy life before diving into extensive studies.
  9. Can you please tell me more about the program? I am looking into them at this moment but am not quite understanding how it works with all the self-studying. It almost sounds like college network/excelsior program. You study the book and than go and take a test.
  10. Hello there. I was wondering how are you liking University of Louisiana? I am looking at different school for my BSN online at this moment and am planning on getting into CRNA after I am done with my BSN. I wanted to send you a private message, but I am too new so cannot do that. I am from Portland, OR and was looking at OHSU CRNA program and their requirements. Which school for CRNA are you considering?
  11. So I have a question, I just got the acceptance letter and the list of classes that has transferred. I took College Algebra from a community college, but for some reason Chamberlain is saying I need to take MATH 32?!! WTFreak? I emailed my adviser and am awaiting for a verdict. They accepted 82 credits though and I have to take 47 more
  12. I have no idea. I am not sure what is going on with my advisor. Could not get hold of him for the last week. Do you know if we need to buy books at all?
  13. I just passed my NCLEX RN and I studied for about 3 weeks. I did Kaplan questions (at least 100/day) and Saunder's for its content. Do not read textbook from cover to cover but concentrate on the areas you are lacking in. Test was very difficult. It felt like I knew nothing. But it shut off at 75 questions. I had about 15 SATA, 4 put in order, 2 pictures. Good luck to everyone who is getting ready to take it
  14. I am starting in November. They are still evaluating my credits and I am hoping I will find out for sure in the next week or two.
  15. Congrats on passing, and for the wait time: one of my friends had to wait almost a week for her license to appear on OSBN and it wasn't holiday season or anythings. I am taking my NCLEX PN on the 7th and praying and praying and praying about it. I don't feel prepared at all.... I am scared....
  16. taking my test on the 7th of July. Didn't really have time to prepare. Will be craming for the next 18 hours at least! I am so scared. All my classmates and teachers are saying I will do great, but I am very sceptical of that.... Sucks. I am praying a lot and have been for the last who knows how many months. I am trying to think positive.... Good luck to everyone!!!!! And Congrats to those who is done!
  17. That is just so unfair!!!!!! I am sorry for all of you guys who have to jump through all those st*pid hoops to get your license! Why are they making it sooo difficult? I am so glad that Oregon accepts EC and don't have a problem with it! Good luck to you all. Hope things work out for the best!
  18. Hey guys! I just finished reading all the posts on all the pages. So, I am currently in my last semester of LPN program from Apollo (Carrington) college. I am doing a research on LPN to RN programs. I am so happy to find lots of resources here!!! My mother-in-law is doing TCN thing and she absolutely HATES it! But unfortunately, she didn't research at all and on top of that, TCN person came to her school and gave them information session. He told their entire cohort that the only way they can get into EC bridge program only if through TCN. Is that true???? Cause reading all above posts it doesn't sound like truth. Also, I was wondering if it would be better to get some prereques out of the way from local CC before joining EC? Thank you for all your help, info and input!
  19. I am really happy for people who are going to be attending ITT! You guys will have some awesome teachers who left Apollo college and now are teaching at ITT!!!! I wish I could go to ITT too, but I am more than a half done with LPN program at Apollo (Carrington) college. Earlier I said it was a good college, but I take those words back. The school is so unorganized and so for profit that it makes me sick! One of our best teachers became a program director of a nursing program at ITT! Congrats to you guys! She is wonderful and she really cares about the students!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Hello! I am really lost right now. I tried researching this on the internet but cannot find anything good. I have a pediatric assignment. The scenario is: 10 month old infant (male) hospitalized with meningitis. He has an IV for abxs. The task is to chose the appropriate toy for the baby. I know that it shouldn't be anything that makes loud noises, but should be something soothing that will help the child to be calm. The only thing I could come up with is the eatable bracelets (my rationale is that baby can suck on it for comfort). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.:redbeathe
  21. They are going to cost more than Apollo! Their program is 9 terms long and it is 50K for the program. Which is a little over 6K less if you do Apollo's LPN and than bridge program to get your RN. I am currently attending Apollo in Portland, OR and one of my classmates is going to transfer to ITT. He will be in the first cohort. He said ITT is planning to recruit people in their ADN program every 3 months.
  22. Ada, hello! We contacted different schools before we chose Apollo. And again, it is not the perfect school but not the worst one =) Good luck and hope you have a great journey!
  23. I am currently attending Apollo and so far enjoying it. Yes, it is expensive, yes, they promise a lot, but I am glad I got into the program. The teachers are very nice and very-very helpful! They work with you and they really want you to succeed. It is tough and gets tougher every semester. I know that Pioneer Pacific is a joke! Don't really know anything about Concorde college. I talked to their rep once and he wasn't very nice. He kept pushing me to chose Medical Assistance program. Do your research, if you chose Apollo, I have an advice for you. Don't buy their books. They are charging too much for them. Half of our class went online and got books for at least 40 dollars cheaper! Good luck!:)
