  1. SopranoKris, if you don't mind, what school are you doing your BSN to DNP program? How is the program? How many years is the BSN to DNP?
  2. Dee279, have you decided which route you are going to take? I have to make that decision too, BSN to DNP or BSN to MSN, then DNP later.
  3. Beekee & Nightflower pls share your Biochem tips, I have palpitations just looking at that stuff.......

Isabelle49, sorry about your son, I can't imagine the pain of losing a child. Don't be mad about the times you did not spend with him, rather cherish the memories of the times you spent together. (sorry for the late response)
  5. good question:yeah:, I thought about this too, would love to see the response from others, especially Nurse managers
  6. If i may ask, what kind of exams? and the ekg exam, was it for certification?

  8. congratulations to those who got accepted and goodluck to those still waiting to hear back. quick questions, 1.what are your backgrounds? 2.how long have you been a nurse? 3.do you know the criteria for selection? 4. how did you decide which kind of NP you want to be?
  9. I would like to know how you started the conversation too, i did call a manager at the hospital were i did my preceptorship, i introduced myself, told her i had my preceptorship on that floor, told her how i learned and enjoyed working with the nurses...teamwork,professionalism.....she finally said go online and see if we have any positions open and apply........i said ok, thanks....btw i already applied to about 9 positions, went to HR in person, followed up with several call with not even 1 response
  10. thanks for sharing:thankya:
  11. All you need to do right now is RELAX and WAIT for results, i have two friends who got the max 265 questions and STILL PASSED. Don't stress yourself.

  17. Quick question, I am interested in the RN-MSN bridge program, but only have 6 months experience, (working LTC) do you think that would be a disadvantage for me? Do I need to have more clinical experience first? I would like to be a NP (in women's health) in the future, not sure where to start from, any tips/advise?

Thanks twokidsmom, caliotter3, meluhn & kyasi, I appreciate you guys taking time to respond. I’m sure I will like home health, I have friends who do home health, I get a lot of info from my friends and it does sound interesting, but my main catch is the flexibility. I want to be there for my family, I think they sacrificed enough while I was in nursing school…lol
  19. I have always dreamed of working in a mother-baby unit, I love postpartum. I have applied to various hospitals with NO luck, (I applied to med/surg bcos I want 1yr experience before going into any specialty). Well, right now I work in a SNF (6 months now), I work PM shift, I enjoy my job, but I want something more flexible so I can spend time with my kids. I am thinking about Home Health, I can finish my patient visit and be home by the time my kids get back from school. I hear there is a lot of paper work, I'm sure I can handle that. I really would love to have hospital experience, but with those 12hr shifts, I won't see my family. Don't get me wrong, I love being a nurse, but my family comes first. I have 2 young kids who need assistance with home work, games, ......BTW, I'm a military spouse so deployment is part of our routine. Do you think going into home health would be a good decision? If not, what are your suggestions?
  20. Ok, had the interveiw, soooooo many case scenerios....ehmmmm well, i felt good after the interveiw though, i did my best, will hear back in 2 weeks...thats a long wait....lol thanks for your support, will keep you posted
