  1. Felicia3277, That is the one reason I think I am going to do the masters route and go back for my DNP. Noski, I think I'm going to do the BSN-MSN & then work on my DNP while working as an NP!
  2. Hey all! I am an ICU nurse with a BSN and an end goal of obtaining my DNP with an ACNP focus. My question is, what is everyone's thoughts on doing a BSN to MSN program vs BSN to DNP program? I'm getting the itch to go back to school so I'm trying to decide which would be the best option. Thanks everyone!
  3. Hi all! I'm 8 weeks into my first assignment & feeling lonely as ever. The hospital and staff are amazing and keep asking me to stay. Other than the acuity being lower than I'm used to (my background is cardiac ICU) I enjoy the assignment. I had started this assignment with a friend however that hasn't continued. I do have another friend that lives out here who I see a couple times. I just find this life to be pretty lonely! I'm starting to think about getting a puppy to help with the loneliness. I don't know what I'm asking, I guess is this normal? Anyone else feel lonely? How did you cope? I thought the travel life would be a bit more exciting! Anyone else get a puppy on assignment?! Thanks everyone!

Hi all! I am just looking for some input, I feel like I'm ready to start travel nursing but before I make the jump I'd like to hear from others what their thoughts are. When I graduated nursing school I started at a trauma 1 teaching hospital in a surgical cardiac vascular thoracic trauma ICU. We moved to a new unit and became a cardiovascular thoracic ICU with a connected sister step down unit. I have been there in the ICU for almost 16months. I was started as a preceptor and as a charge nurse prior to my one year. I'm confident making decisions for my patients, and I always try to take our sickest patients on the unit. I'm comfortable with pressors, intubations, codes, and basic nursing skills among other things such as devices (iabp's, CRRT, & LVAD's. I guess I just need reassurance that I can handle travel nursing, or pointers to get me ready. Thanks everyone!
