Extremely Offensive ER experience
Write a letter to the president?? exactly what are u offended about. From what you typed.. none of the ER staff seem to act like you are seeking drugs" you just assumed it. And i hope u are not mad because the nurse did not get you water on time...It's ER not hotel. I actually think you got good treatment from the ER. The doc even included you in the care plan. you had CT done-negative, pain med given and also prescribed and nausea med given. Personally I wish nurses will act like a patient for once when they go for medical treatment instead most act like they know more than the doc and want to treatments their way. sometimes act very rude. And ...I agree with what Dixie said also. No need to write letter.

What's the worse thing you have seen?
OK maybe this thread should be deleted...obviously this is ******* 80% of nurses here off. I don't know maybe people are reading too much into the topic. Too me I feel like we all have funny story to tell that may not even relate to our pt's condition. like when a pt told a CNA " Please tell my nurse i may not have BM today but i've been having juicy fart all day. I had asked him when was the last time he had BM and he said couple of days ago.

Hiring outlook for ADN vs. BSN in your town?
Big hospitals in Dallas medical center will prefer BSN, but you can get by with ADN at small private hopstals.

Question: Lvn iv push
What LPN can push or cannot push depend on the hospital you work at. The hospital that I work the only iv meds LPN cannot push are those that require mixing such as protonix or very lethal iv med like metoprolol iv even RN cannot push that on reg med surg floor...so I will advice you to check your hospital policy.
-
Hiring outlook for ADN vs. BSN in your town?
I think big cities in Texas Prefer BSN, but small town or State dont mind if you have ADN or even Diploma as long you an RN you are good to go. If you have the time to invest and money I think BSN is way to go.

first admission all the time
Thank you all for all the advice. I wont mind getting first admits if the floor i work isn't so hectic. From all what i've gathered here so far...1. I will keep records of the admit assignments, 2. let the charge nurse know that she always put me on first admit based on the facts, 3. if no change let the supervisor/nurse manager knows. Appreciate all the inputs.

first admission all the time
i work on a busy med-surg floor. On med surg floor the first 3-4 hours is very busy and to top it off with admit all the time i work is just annoying. There is really no legitimate reason other than this people don't want to do admit during med pass and pt's care. I appreciate all the answers on this issue.

first admission all the time
Every time I work with this RN weekender they always put me on first to get admission. I have big problem with it but I dont want to make it an issue. should I say something or just work with it for the sake of team work.

RN fron Nigeria
Why the LPN and not the RN exam? Kaplan textbook is very good to study for either LPN or RN exam. I dont know if they have it in Canada. Good luck

NCLEX question! need help
The reason might be that the woman had been NPO during labor for a long peroid of hours . so you will expect the post delivery blood sugar to decrease. The reason the answer is not A was because you 220 is high blood sugar already and pregnant women blood sugar are suppose to already in control before labor start.

University of Southern Nevada
I am a graduate from USN.Wonderful Dean and professors. I enjoyed and learned great from the school. the program is set that you only focus on one subject at a time and then you test. The clasrrom setting is modern and the technology is awesome. The program is very intense and so you must be 100% responsible. I enjoyed my clinicals. The chose the best hospitals for their clinical. After i graduated, i passed my NCLEX on first attempt. The dean and the professors wrote nice recomendations for me for jobs. I got job just like that. I used everything i learned from the school in my job now. The school is expensive so I am stuck paying back my private and federal loans. But it all worth it.
