Written Job Offer Rescinded=jobless
Its people like you that is the reason people don't comment or post. I wonder would people tell it like it is if they were not anonymously behind a keyboard. And I absolutely was not looking for sympathy but experiences and insightful comments not unsolicited opinions. I didn't think this post would even get looked at twice honestly but thank you to all that left encouraging words, past experiences and insightful comments.

It was a better job @BuckyBadger. Point blank. It would have been better for my family and me. After 5yrs at a job I would think a person would have relationships that would be hard to leave. Gosh why y'all reading into the post and picking it apart. If you don't have anything insightful or encouraging to comment please don't comment.

Written Job Offer Rescinded=jobless
@springchick1 No missing pieces. If I put in a two weeks notice and worked out the two weeks as stated in the OP. That means I did not up and just quit. I had no quarrels or qualms with any one at my previous employments.

Written Job Offer Rescinded=jobless
I'm feeling pretty crappy because today was horrible. I cried most of the day. One of my worst days ever. So I have been working at a job for 5 yrs then I received a written job offer for a better job. So reluctantly I put in my two weeks notice. Monday 3/14/16 was suppose to be my orientation for the new job. However I received a phone call today (last day at my current job) from HR at the potential job saying they have to rescind the offer because of unfavorable reference. She stated I was not eligible to be rehired at a previous job (2010) So since they (potential employer) brought my previous employer out it applied to them to. I emailed her proof that I gave a two weeks and worked out my two week notice. I called my old manager back to see if I can rescind my notice he stated I would have to reapply for the position since I was out of the system. I have a feeling he won't rehire me. I have awesome performance reviews; I just feel like he would find someone he wants to hire like a previous coworker (small town). So now I am jobless/unemployed. I don't know what to do. Its Texas so I highly doubt I can sue. I just feeling they should have thoroughly did an employment verification before offering me the job.

Nervous about a potential move= need advice
I started a job with the state about 8 months ago probation is one year. I think the job is great, Mon-Fri, 8-5 (8am is flexible if we have to be in the office),ample amount of training, off days whenever requested, holidays off limited on call, etc.. My family is 3 hours away. The reason I moved to the city is because of my ex BF and the job. Now that I'm no longing with my ex I'm feeling very lonely in this city. I went to college in the city but since all my old college friends move to a bigger city so I'm basically here alone. However my same job with the same salary has open in a city closer to home and friends but the cost of living is higher. I am nervous because I have gotten settle in this city. I live very cheap in my current city less then $500 a month for all bills (rent, cable, internet, electric) but in the bigger city idk. I also go to school online. What are y'alls thoughts?

FIRED ON MY DAY OFF!!!!!! I thought this type of thing only happened in the movies.
Wow!! from my understanding the unemployment board made the decision on your favor x2. I think you may have grounds to go to the Feds= the labor board, complain to the BON about the DON, and if you think its to that point lawsuit against the company for allowing this to happen.

To Start Second Job in PSYCH this Weekend
Hello, I am starting a second job in a private psych hospital and I have no idea what to expect. I have been an RN 1 year= 6 months in rehab before I moved for a state job (inspecting LTC homes) with better benefits and a BF (another story for another time). I have also been a LVN in the hospital for 1.5 years before getting out of BSN school. I have no idea what to expect. I was going back to school for my master's but totally flunked out. My rationale for the second job was I was I didn't have anything to do. I work 8-5 some overnights and free on weekends. I was also thinking I could do this to get into a specialty and keep my skills. I am not sure how much training I am going to get but I have read the polices and competencies requirements they gave me. I would like to know what to expect because I am kind of nervous/ excited about starting.

What kind of car do you drive for those 1+ hour commutes?
Toyota Prius is the best as far as MPG. I drive from north Texas 15 min from OK to central Texas (3hrs) and my gas hand moves one notch (10 notches in all). I spend average $40 to fill up.

Blood transfusions??? just say no...
I think you all are being to hard on her. What's the difference being a nurse who do not want to spike a bag of blood and press the button vs a pregnant nurse who can not take infectious patients or a immunodeficient nurse? Legally I do not think a employer can deny you a job for this. Before a company hired you they give you a form stating what you can not do just fill out the form. Do not limit yourself just because of this.

Is moving out the country a solution to job finding difficulties?
No. Just search on allnurses.com every other nurse in other countries are having problems finding job. Hard to get licensed in others.

CNA scope of practice
I think it is okay for the CNA in a LTC to ask the patient about pain level if it is clearly written in the Policies and Procedure of the facility. However farther assessment should be done by the nurse legally. It would be different in a hospital setting because the patients are acute and need more assessment.

Email resignation?
I think e-mail is fine. You could even print it out, sign it, and fax it.

Need some Pep Talk
I recently started a online MSN graduate school in November. I did great in the first class. Classes are every 5weeks. However now I am struggling in the statistics part of my second class. I am passing by the hairs on my chinny chin chin. I'm just feeling so down because I did good in the first class. Passing is a 83%. And I have no idea what would happen if I don't pass. I'm just praying for the best.

let go 6 wks into 10 wks orientation...is it fair?
I would not worry about it you have your LTC job just ask for more hours or back to full time. From the sound of it, they might have had a change in budget and needed to cut something. Training a new person is expensive so you know the deal or maybe a more experience nurse stepped up to do more hours idk. This is just my option I could be wrong.
