  1. is this also for BSN? i applied and called several times getting different answers as to when we would get our responses and the most conclusive thing i have come to is prob 6 weeks after applying...
  2. Its the END OF THE MONTH!!!! & still, nothing ):
  3. i haven't heard anything yet!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. so heres what i've heard: the head of the nursing school has a blog and on it she said you will get your reply 'on or around march 26' so if u havent gotten it yet (i havent) itll prob come trmw. apparently there was a little prob wiht my app so i called and sent email etc and i head that i would 'have a reply by the end of the month' so i think if u dont have one by april 1st then somethings wrong-until then i'm checking my email every 5 seconds!!!
  5. university of san francisco (1st choice by far) dominican university (backup...)
  6. i think that as long as you have learned from these mistakes you will be ok...actually, you will probably be a better nurse now!! (of course im not reccomending doing this, but we DO learn from our mistakes).... you already know this, but maybe you need to hear it again. im sure u remember a time when you were in grade school and you spelled a word wrong on a spelling test and beat yourself up about it... i bet you've never misspelled that word again, and probably took extra time to check all other words after that test. this situation is understandably difficult, but tell yourself that you have taken time to think and learn from it, and will now be a better nurse it will all work out in the end- everything happens for a reason
  7. such a great story. that is also why i chose to be a nurse. at first i wanted to be a doctor, but i am much more of a 'people person' and i want to be there to comfort the patients as well as the medical stuff. hope ur feeling better after ur op!
  8. i agree with you about the 100% thing. they are not nurses, but excellent writers and actually, after talking to them i've decided to change my essay and now i feel much more confident about it even though i havent started officially writing the new one! my old essay was exteremely typical, which is horrible for an admissions essay. AND the way i wrote it didn't answer both prompts for both schools, which is probably why i was so hesitant about it. i'm really excited for my new essay now!! if you dont mind, i'll work on it this weekend and hopefully send it to you by sun. i think its going to be much better, and it will stand out in a different way:D btw thanks for the help!! sand dollar and everyone!!! i feel so confident now, this website is like having a team of nurses in my home helping me make the right choices!!
  9. i've been trying to volunteer at childrens since sept! i've done everything on time and gone to the info meetings but i havent started yet ): HOPEFULLY in the future i can work there, that is my ultimate goal!! anyone else?
  10. taking: spring 10: nutrition micro speech stat summer 10': anatomy hoping to transfer to: 1st choice: USF (cali) 2nd: dominican im also considering spring 2011 tho...
  11. agreed that there are no bad sides to volunteering....that is unless it is taking away from your school work/time to study and you are doing more poorly because of it. the best thing is you can just start the volunteering position and if its not for you there are no harsh feelings. you just explain it and your out! give it a try if you have the chance.
  12. i plan on moving to sf (not from far, im in the east bay now) if i get into usf *fingers crossed** i'm going to take my dog with me, but i realize she will have to get used to being a city dog w/o a big yard. do you think its worth it to live in sf? or would you do a commute of 30 min? at the moment i'm doing a commute but thats because i'm at a jc and i CAN plan my school around my commute...
  13. hmmm...for some reason i dont see that icon...sanddollar, under your name it says: "senior member" then it has 3 icons: i in a circle- view public profile, plus in a circle- add to contacts, magnifying glass-search... is it possibly b/c im a new user? thanks again for all the help. im @ my cousins house and getting major negative feedback ):
  14. WOW!!! thank you both so much! i feel better already im new to this (AMAZING!!) forum, so sorry if this question has an incredibly obvious answer, but is there a place that lists your emails? or a way to direct message my essay to you? thank you again!!!
