  1. @Jules A. What kind of degree do you have? Truthfully
  2. As a CNL I am currently in a New Grad program with others. Most of them have associate degrees and many of them are still waiting to take their NCLEX. I am okay with this and I am very glad that I am given this opportunity. Sometimes I feel like i should know much more than these guys (all) but really thats not the case. many of these guys are smart. Some of them know stuff I dont even know and some will probably do better than me in exams. But I have a great advantage in the long run and everyday I am seeing this. my education has really prepared me for a stronger future in nursing. Really, we all just want to provide the best care for our patients. it is not who is better.
  3. As long as they are neat and packed, thats okay. What mater is for you to be able to convince them that you are the right person for the job. I would say dress professional (I mean real nice).
  4. I am not a foreign-trained nurse. Born and raise in Washington DC. I think you need to understand that we all have our way of speaking. no two persons speak alike. many times people have told me that I speak with an accent. so Miss or Mr. Nurse with no accent. Most of these foreign nurses speak, write and command english better than most of us. Please answer the thread an stop diverting the issue at hand. Did they teach you cultural diversity in school? How would you care for a patient who do not speak the way you speak? Yes I strongly agree that something needs to be done about employing foreign trained nurse over nurses who spend a lot of money going to nursing school in America.
  5. Yes you are indeed ready. TAKE THE DAMN THING!
  6. Take a week break from studying. Relax and treat yourself to some fun without thinking about the NCLEX. Just know you will pass on your next attempt. Tell yourself NCLEX is easy and believe it. Change your studying style. Read and understand the rationales. Practice eliminating wrong answers. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU UNDERSTAND THE QUESTION and do not read into the question. NCLEX questions are simple, it is what it is, they are not trying to fool you. when you go in for the exam, please try as much as possible to be calm. if you feel you are not sure of the answer to some question (or all) don't panic. Remember; understand the question eliminate wrong answers choose your answer- best possible answer and leave the rest to the lord. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY before, during (short prayer) and after your test. Good luck. And please do not focus on post that tends to talk about themselves (I do this, I do that) too much. Seek the post that actually give you genuine advice. They are coming soon.
  7. As a nurse one of your goals is to provide the highest quality of care for people you care for. it does not matter whether they are "inmates who are paying for their misdeeds" or veterans. I agree with you about serving these men who served and are serving our nation but still everybody deserves your best care.
  8. Thanks everyone. I went for the detail and I was told that I tested positive for Hep B surface antigen. Other than that, my lab works were normal. I am yet to tell my fiancee as I want to consult my doctor for further testing.
  9. I just received a call that I may have been exposed to Hepatitis B going by the result of my blood test. I have an appointment tomorrow for the the details. My question is, should I go with my fiancee tomorrow so she could hear the news from the nurse or should I just go there alone and come home to tell her in my own words? Thanks
