    Wow great - thanks for all the advice! Is it foreseeable that you could make more money in working just with the agency ? It seems as if USPHS is like the middle man because theypay you and not the agency. I guess I just need to crunch some numbers.

    Hello all ! I am interested in joining the USPHS and have read many forum entries about it - very exciting. Allnurses.com has been a fantastic ressource!! My question is this: What is the main advantage of becoming a USPHS Commissioned Corps RN since you must apply for jobs at agencies anyways? Why not just apply for the agency job, have governmental pay & benefits without the commitment to USPHS? Am I missing something? I am aware that there is a 25k bonus but is that it? Any thoughts? thanks!! sim
