  1. I bet the HR already knows exactlh what is going on. If you are leaving leave with a smile. The economical climate is tough and you may need her one day. How much do you make?
  2. I would not call the Poe Poe on my loved ones, friends and family members. I just wouldn't. You do you. I am just saying what I would not do. Again, I was refering to the OP. Please do not take my posts personal. I do not know you from Adam. I do not judge. I was just saying. Nursing is cut throat. However, I do have an opinion. I am not an authority on any subject. I do have an opinion.
  3. yes statistical research shows that african americans are not properly medicated. check the statistics.
  4. I was not refering to you or your opinions. I directed my post to Raggedy Ann.
  5. The next time you take something that does not belong to you, think what if. It could be a simple pen. Just what if. And do not tell me people do not precieve race as an issue. I work in corrections. The jails would have to close if all the African Americans and Mexican were FREED
  6. Okay so they were African American. That spells guilty in any situation.
  7. Wow! Strong accusations since you are a suspect yourself of abusing narcotics. You maybe in line to ruine this person's career. What is the person's back ground and ethnicity?
  8. I was a hungry young girl growing up. I ate off the floor, out of the garbage can, I could not afford deodarants, my stocking had holes so big..., I ate others left overs. Once I had a roach in my plate at a resturant, yes I continued eating. But I grew up in a time when personal relationships were important. No one called the authorities to report my parents for neglect, nor did they report me for my indignations. OP you have done what you thought was honorable. I do not know what I would have done. I do know this girl did not take your belongings for the fun of it. Was it worth it. What was her back ground and ethnicity?
  9. Wow what are friends for? I will keep co-workers so far away after reading your post. I will continue to seperate my private life from anyone I work with. Thanks for this lesson. Did you know that oral sex is illegal, you may want to call the cops on her for that. J walking, seatbelts against the law and very deadly. Calling all cars be on the look out for....fill in the blank my friend.
  10. That is interesting what state are you in? I thought that was how it worked, don't tell if asked, (Not the don't ask don't tell). NC is special the board entrapps nurses. Nurses have to stay a few steps ahead of those cunning ladies and gents. I would love to know the inner workings of the board drug investigators and disciplinary teams. I know nurses who were sober as hell but killed clients due to negligence and were not penalized after being reported. It seems druggies are treated differently by the boards and more severly. Can we call this discrimination?
  11. and dry drunk it is. i read the post and read between the lines. i recently came to my own conclusion how dry (drunk) i am. i lost my home, lost my job, lost friends and had not touch a drink or drugs in a long time. the drugs are gone, the smell of liquor no longer lingers, the hand tremblers are no longer obvious but the lasting effects of the chemicals on my brain are alive and present. my thinker is still broken and impaired. i came to the realization that i continue to make impaired choices. i need help and plan to attend aa sooner than later. let’s face it, if the original poster had her thinking cap on she would not have divulged her drug use to anyone connected with her job and profession. dah. so being clean and drug free is great but having a new thinking cap on is wonderful. the new thinking cap will help me not to blame another soul for the mess i personally made for me, my family, friends and career. i am blessed to have had the intervention. the board members are intelligent enough to realize how long it takes for sobriety to transcend a mindset from using drugs to numb feelings into seeking positive coping mechanisms. i only want to speak about my situation and my turn of events.
  12. Protect ur financial investments. Find a job ASAP before the board gets ahold of this situation. Be honest so u won't lose that job as well. I wish I would have rented out my home before forclosure. Invest in an attorney. Down size. This economy is crule and nurses are more cruel to each other in our situation. Get help for ur addiction now. You need a clear head to navigate this maze.
  13. Wow....So sorry for the changes of events. How long were you at this company.
  14. You must not act like a victim. Take responsiblity for what has happen and the role you played. I am in your situation. It has been almost one year since graduation from Nurse practitioner studies. I have yet to get a full time gig as a practitioner. I work as an RN in corrections making 1/3 of what a practitioner should earn. I always tell the accounts of my situation from the victim's view. And no one wants to hear it. I never get call backs. So lets try this together, so that we can measure the results. We sould come up with a plan of how to make a presentation and a verbal/written contract with potential employers. It seems to have worked for the other fellow/sister nurses with probationary sentences.
  15. By any other name, this is a sexual assault. I just should not have to show my privates to anyone but health care providers or lovers. I am insulted. This is really gone too far. There are other ways to drug screen. We should have been given the choice to blood test or show our private areas. We are footing the bill any ways. Why should the board care about the price? This is indignant. I am humble, but enough is enough.
  16. What is the difference? The families bring the money to Kindred, without the families to consent to treat, Kindred would not get paid. Would you want to just lay dead? Families are told there is hope, mom will recover, dad will breath again, your son has a chance after a fatal accident. We nurses know better. Their clients have tubes and machines to breath, pee, eat, clean blood, turn positions, medication to elevate heart rates, lower them, and pressures.... we haven't come up with a machine to think for clients just yet.
  17. I worked at Kindred it is the worst place I ever worked. I wished I never worked there, pleases enter with care, caution, and an exit plan. The clients are dead, kept alive on machines.
  18. NCBON is managed with unrestraint. The board members must realize we are not cohesive enough to garner any objections as the powerful group of professional nurses. Instead we are regarded as druggies, etoh abusers, diverters without the insight to ban and fight. If an individual objects, they would probably lose their case, get a new lable, and added time onto their sentencing. We need a union. To answer your question, this in an invasion. We should appeal to the civil liberties agency.
  19. I understand, this is my umteenth pregnancy. I have nine liveing, two legal, a few spontaneous, and the last two ended with spontaneous. I really feel prego, peeing, nause, sleeping, breast, generalize prego. I don't know what to make of this. I do not want to begin OB visits for an eventual abortion. I am going to allow nature to take its course. nine weeks or nine months. I will seek care if pain, or bleeding begins, and after four months.
  20. The client was denied the rights and benefits of hospice care. The question should be, how can we advocate for clients and families without ramifications? Call medicare and explain the situation.
  21. I hope all works out for you. Bad checks are against the law, known or unknown. I work as a correctional nurse, the charges for bad checks are akin to financial fraud for the small ranking criminal. Why didn't the Marines catch the blep? Thanks for serving.
  22. I was incorrect about the board's postition, refusing to test is a guilt plea. What I read, voluntarily surrendering licensing is a form of disciplinary actions. I read the NCBON NPA through and through. Good luck in your future endeavors, and professional career.
  23. I feel differently. I wish so many times I would have ran as fast as possible. I ended up on probation. If that manager wants to trouble your life they can and will. You do not need the resume filler, you need you license. Go and go quickly. It is professional to work a notice. However, you seem worried about safety. There are other ways to quit. Take an immediate leave for mental anguish.
  24. Sorry Guy, Sir, Mr. NC is absolutly different, they practice adminstrative law every day any day. The question, "can they do this?" YES YES YES AND YES AGAIN. And I sorry, but the law states again, no test is a dirty test. Trust me. If you are pulled over, asked to do a sobriety road test and refuse, you will be arrested for DWI. Just another example. Don't get it twisted, she did not test, she is not working for her refusal to test. She had it done to her. Sorry OP, did not mean to distract from your situation. I do not know where you reside, please read the disciplinary sanctions on your state board. You may be able to see a pattern of nurses who refused to test.
  25. Okay miss peer review. She did not submit to the test, and she does not have a job(teminated) for not testing. She was viewed a guilty without a trial or jury of her peers because admistration law is different. Point blank and the ncbon practice act clearly states it is an admission of guilt. You cannot refuse. You can refuse; however, if you wish not to have a job or you wish not to have a nursing career, even as a cna.
