  1. If you dont mind me asking where did you apply????? Also check out the hospital based schools like Beth Israel or St. Pauls (formally St. Vincents) they arent cuny cheap but they arent NYU expensive either. GOod luck
  2. i heard Indeed.com has a few jobs as well
  3. i dont know about nyc but ive seen a few online. if you go to google and type LPN-RN bridge in the search some should come up... also keep in mind if you see LVN-RN (LVN and LPN ) are the same thing. i guess on the west coast they are called Licensed Vocational nurses good luck.
  4. THank for the info ive always been interested in learning about this hospital.. good insight
  5. From what i understand they only consider your "composite score" which is your score from the math section and the reading comprehension section. These are the first two sections of the test. There is a speed reading section which is the very first thing you do for the reading comprehension section i believe but as far as i know it doesnt count. then there is a science section, a grammer section and psychological section all of which dont count. hope this helps
  6. I tried to write back to you but i guess because i dont have 15 post yet i cant reply....:angryfire stupid rule but whatever. The test isn a PITA. I took it twice. the first time i had a few net review books from barnes and noble (kaplan and barrans review) both a waste of time. its way more info than you need. get the Net review book from Clove Lake book store, its cheaper. if you want ill give you mmy book. The book only gives you the info you need to know. Ill PM you the answer to your question once i hit 15 posts.... only 5 more go i guess lol
  7. id try back in late january or mid february for an application. from my experience they look at the math section a lot
  8. took the Net exam for the 2nd time in early october, interviewed last week and got a phone call earlier this week that i was accepted... can anyone in the program tell me how they like it and how long the days are? 8-2 9-2? i didnt really get a straight answer at the interview
  9. Im dont meant for this to be hostile just stating my point of view. until your in the situation of a EMS provider you may not understand our position. At times we take patient to a ER and the staff tells us its the wrong facility.... and often times we know its not the best facility but at the end of the day if the patient needs to be stabilized the closest facility is better than the most appropriate one. lets be honest most facilities can stabilize a trauma victim in most cases.
  10. Ive always been interested in the flight scene of ems let me know how it works out
  11. having experience as a EMT cant hurt. You learn a lot more as a nurse but it will help you have a firm understanding of the basic concepts especially when it comes to patient assessment.
  12. thats rediculous but you see abuse everywhere... i dont think its a socioeconomic thing its just an ignorance thing. I work in ems and it seems that whether person has money or not does matter... Some people want an ambulance because they are over dramatic and other just want the free ride so they dont have to call a taxi and dont own a car.
  13. I didnt receive a letter yet but i did receive a call notifying me that I was accepted for Spring 2010 good luck to everyone hopefully they tell people soon.
