  1. Sadly enough it is something we need to be concerned with because of these generations uniqueness. Morelostthanfound says something that is very true, when we started years ago we kept our heads down and did our work, there was some discontention at times but it was nothing like the behaviors I have seen and keep seeing. These last two generations are most challenging and I teach the ASN 2nd semester class, WOW what a challenge.
  2. I have to respond to that post, nursing itself is an amazing amazing profession its the politics that makes things hairy. You have to truly love being a nurse just like a marriage in the best or worst of times through the dark storms and sunny days. I am there for the patients that gets me through. Is it bad right now yes it is, to the point that yes i get chest pains and my blood pressure is through the roof, but that's when you change to another area of nursing to avoid burnout...
  3. the problem is when the hospital says it is enough to staff a nurse with 6-8 patients in the acute care setting...only California has the mandatory staffing at this time
  4. This was to be my next topic to submit to the nursing journals when i am done with graduate school, this is a severe problem and i have been trying to get others involved in taking control of our profession, things such as letting our local politicians know whats going on so mandatory staffing laws are implemented country wide. Nurses are the largest group of professionals yet we cannot get together to show force and strength that enough is enough...While I know we all fear retaliation for speaking up (been there done that), the reality is we have to take a stand and yes isn't it a blessing that we have careers that are in high demand? We have to take a stand and stop being held captive, awareness of this issue must come to light and not swept under the rug anymore. As long as it is done with the professional standards that we should have then my hope is that our voices will be heard...Can this letter be forwarded to local newspapers? or television?
  5. I did the first quiz OMG wicked hard...its week 3 i just want to pass....
  6. This class is the worst week 2 and I am more confused no help from my group mates 3 of whom are taking it over sigh
  7. Hi I see I am in coach booth group are u in southwest fl Vera 4130?

  9. I will also be in the 7th circle of hell and starting Nursing research 4325 on feb 24th...
  10. thats exactly how I feel from the "undesirables" to having their back....i hate nights like last night but man I take pride in being a nurse. I absolutely still love it 11 years later!
  11. Problem is when u r so far In to start elsewhere is a pain
  12. Mercury i agree with you on the grading of assignments that were great being graded badly, i complained about the advisor to no end and didnt she end up being the advisor in my next class! smh

  15. Thanks for the info mercury ! If you are a strong math person then hopefully it will be a slight bit better hopefully I have been trying to get a copy of the syllabus to try and get an understanding of the assignment percentage and to get started on the assignments but no luck
  16. Has anyone taken Math 1308-800 yet? If so can anyone offer any pointers or tips I start in two weeks and like to know what i am in store for...Thanks
  17. My advisor just emailed me back there was a rule in effect of no more than one nursing class but apparently a week ago this rule was squashed as long as the student is aware of the amount of hours required to do the work...just another way UtA messed up I could have gotten more done than I have and the only way I found out was because you guys had taken two classes and I am pretty certain I would never have know other wise smh.. As it is I am already registered thru to december so I will leave it for now...smh so doggone frustrating too far in to pull out now
  18. I am gonna try and find the email tomorrow on my desktop and verify this info I was trying to take two nursing classes at once and they told me I could not but they said one nrsg and one non nrsg were ok my GPA is above a 3.5 so i doubt it's a GPA thing..
  19. Then your advisor missed the memo that was sent out to the students they made me drop 2 classes that I had signe up for they allow now only one nursing class with a non nursing class I got the memo from my academic advisor
  20. It takes uta a while to get thru the application process as they do a certain amount of processing at a time based on the requested start date
  21. The school only allows us to take one nursing class at a time and I agree with kc post the teaching assistants some are a challenge it's the uta processes that are so frustrating I am taking as many classes as I can so I can be done ASAP
  22. Which campus are you at pj?
