  1. 1. God's mercy every day because I sure need it. 2. My loving and supportive husband who is my absolute rock. 3. I am grateful that God picked my husband and I to raise our two beautiful kids. 4. Our wonderful parents. 5. I not only have a job, but I have a great job as a RN. 6. Our health and strength. 7. Lastly, I'm grateful that each day is a new beginning.
  2. Scholarship from the hospital while in nursing school ---> Externship at same hospital while in nursing school during the summer ---> Applied for Residency program in 3 areas at same hospital prior to graduating ---> Got it!
  3. You're feelings are normal. It just means that it's important to you to do a good job. Your time management and documenting will come with a little time. Sometimes unfortunately it may seem like the experienced nurses were never inexperienced, but guess what - they were. Now is your time. Remain a learner now matter how much experience you get and you will do fine.
  4. NC Girl RN hit it right on the head. The beauty of the program does lie in the fact that you can work nursing school around your life. It undoubtedly takes a great deal of determination and effort. I completed more than 50% of a traditional nursing program and then completed my degree at Excelsior. I made it work for me and now I'm a working nurse RN in my chosen area. You can do it too.
  5. I know you're a bit discouraged right now, but don't give up. You might try getting some face time with an admissions rep to get any suggestions that they might offer so you could put your energy in the right place.
  6. Hi snjoy, Please email me when you have an opportunity regarding the CPNE. I look forward to hearing from you. Take care.
  7. First of all your daughter is in my prayers. I have never heard of this Hurler Syndrome MPS 1 so I appreciate your explanation. Secondly, yes it is very challenging to get through it; however, it is also very doable. Just focus on one course at a time. Don't get overwhelmed by worrying about getting in or any other thing that may cause stress. Just do the best you can do with what you been charged to learn. You can do this!!!
  8. I'd like to add some encouragement also. Although it's slow I hear at many hospitals things are turning around. Keep doing what you're doing and don't let up. Your persistence will pay off. Lastly, if necessary you can have your student loan payments put on hold until you're able to find employment. We're pulling for you here.
  9. I'm so sorry for your loss.
  10. Go for whatever your heart desires. Don't ever limit yourself or you will be miserable. You're young compared to many of my classmates from RN school. You've obviously got the right heart for it. To me that's 99% of what it takes. You've got my vote!
