  1. Hello all, I am also applying for the Spring 2012 for a generic RN track. I am so nervous to take the TEAS exam. Has any of you already taken it? How was it?
  2. Hi Rholman, Good for you...I'm taking A&P1 at SCC or SSC next semester. I was just wondering who is your professor there. If you could please send me an e-mail, that'll be very helpful. Thanks!!
  3. Thank you AVMadd and Kristi1111 that is pretty awesome job you guys are doing considering you also have full time jobs. Are the A&P1 exams basically all memorization of the body parts or do you also need to memorize the definition of it? What about Microbiology, how are difficult is the exam, is it kinda like General Biology? Sorry to ask all those questions, but I'm just trying to prepare myself later on... thanks for your input.
  4. AVMadd, do both of your classes usually have the exams scheduled for the same week? That's what I'm worried about is to find time to study for exams for both classes if they happen to be in the same week. If so, how do you manage to do that?? That is what happened to me this week. I had Psy and BIO exams on the same week and I didn't have enough time to study for Psy because I spent so much time studying for BIO since there are so many info needed to know for that class. I was wondering if it will going to be the same scenario for A&P1 and Micro too.
  5. Hello, Is it possible to take A&P 1 and Microbiology at the same time? I'm planning to take it next semester but I don't know what to expect on any of that classes. What do they do in Microbiology and A&P 1? Which one is harder? I am currently taking General BIO and Psychology and BIO is taking up most of my time. I am not working but I have 2 kids at home ages 4 and 1. My 1 year old is so attach to me that it's sometimes difficult for me to find time to study. Can anyone please advise and/or tell me what to expect on each class I mentioned above. Thanks in advance!
  6. Opps, I mean a formula on how to calculate the number of electrons needed to fill the valence shell (# of holes) for example carbon???
  7. I am taking Biology class this fall and having a hard time understanding the chemistry part of it. I've never taken chemistry before. This might be an easy question for some people but can someone explain in details how to calculate the number of valence electrons? Thanks!
  8. Thank you for all your responses. I guess I'll find out tonight how my first lab work will be like:)
  9. Uggh, I guess I should take advantage of all the free time I have now while just taking prereqs for nursing program.
  10. Hello, I am currently taking my General Biology and I'm having a hard time understanding the concept of it. I was just wondering before I drop the class if the test and lab work are also going to be hard or will it be easier than the lecture. I heard from some people that tests are easier than lecture because they are multiple choice, but I'm not so sure about the lab works. Please give your input as to how I should study for our upcoming test. Thank you in advance!
  11. Thank you nursewannab10! I did attend the infoshare but didn't get much information. The powerpoint slides they presented at the infoshare is basically the same as the information they have online. It was just a waste of time for me to go there. They talked more of the LPN and other classes they are offering in healthcare than the RN program. I really hope I can get more info on the evening/weekends schedule so I can plan my time ahead of time.
  12. I'm also a stay at home mom with 2 kids (ages 4 and 1) and going back to school taking prereqs for nursing. You mentioned about taking CPT for algebra. I just took it yesterday and passed the college algebra:yeah:. I did a self study online for a month before I took the test. You can find a lot of websites that can help you study on your own. The site that I like and helped me a lot on my studying is: http://www.wtamu.edu/academic/anns/mps/math/mathlab/col_algebra/index.htm. Hope it will help you too. I haven't taken math for ages and I passed it. If I can do it, I'm sure you can too. I also took online classes last semester and I loved it. I can just turn my computer on and do my work anytime I have a free time. I'm also aiming for a 2011 nursing program at my local community college, so I need all my prereqs done summer of 2010 to apply for spring 2011 term. Good luck to you!
  13. What time does the class starts? I'm not in the nursing program yet, but I want to know the schedule ahead of time so I can prepare my kids' babysitter in the future. Also, does the schedule they have when you registered for class is what they follow or do they always change it. Just wondering... Thanks!
  14. Hello All, Does anybody going to SCC for nights/weekends classes and what is the schedule like? I have a son who will be in kindergarten by the time I hopefully get in to their Nursing program and I heard from some people who go there that they starts as early as 3pm. I want to know exactly what time the program starts everyday because I'm planning my time ahead since 3pm will conflict to my schedule because that's the same time that my son goes home from school and I won't be able or have anybody pick him up from school to go to his babysitter's house. His school is close by so school bus is not an option to drop him off and his babysitter doesn't drive. It's a long walk from school to his babysitter's house and I'm afraid for him to walk by himself. Anyone in the same situation? If so, how did you go around it? Thanks for your help in advance!
