Is CRNA school as difficult as people said?
I agree with most of everything people say. If I only study 4-6 hrs a day ... though ... I would be really behind. I'm starting to do all nighters on the weekend to just get through content then have time to go back over and restudy. Repetition is key. The content you have to learn in CRNA school is not stuff you can just fudge through. You actually have to know it. You have to give up a lot while you are in school. Make sure you prepare family and friends for not seeing you for the next 2-3 years (depending on your program length) and if they can't handle that then they aren't really your friends anyways. One things my program focuses a lot on is balance. There has to be balance in your life. Make sure you are getting rest and exercising and spending a little time with family or you WILL lose your mind. I think my main point is.... YOU HAVE TO REALLY WANT TO BE A CRNA to get through this program. Otherwise ... don't even apply because you won't make it without the drive.

How many times did you apply for CRNA school before being accepted?
Ended up getting in my first time applying too! What a blessing!:)

Loma Linda Interview - Starting Fall 2012
I agree with all of my classmates. One stupid thing I'll suggest is to take a few sips of water while you are in the interview. It will calm you down and help with the dry mouth you get in the room. Gives you a second to think on hard questions before answering. They gave us water in the interview...I didn't even notice because I was so nervous:)

Duke CRNA
I think with any CRNA school that there are so many applicants that you have to think about....if they have a ton of other applicants that all have the required ICU experience....why would they make an exception for step down experience. Try your hardest to get some ICU experience and keep on trying!!! I think you really the ICU experience is important!!

CRNA Schools with NON-Panel Interviews!!?
I also think that is why they do the panel interviews....to see how you react under pressure. I've seen a few posts on various sites that talk about how many people were in interviews. check around

Loma Linda Interview - Starting Fall 2012
There were I think 3 LLU employees in my group. If I don't get in i'll just apply for next year. I wonder how hard it is to get a second interview if you aren't accepted after an interview the 1st time. I'm just going for LLU. Michelle warned me that most people think they should have done better on the HSRT. I got the same score. It said Strong Critical Thinking in the analysis.

Loma Linda Interview - Starting Fall 2012
When I called to schedule my HSRT they told me there were several interviewees from out of town. I met only 1 person from out of town in the afternoon sessions. All the candidates seem very qualified and super nice. I met several people who interviewed who were employees at LLU. What is your plan if you aren't accepted this year?

Loma Linda Interview - Starting Fall 2012
Ya sounds like our odds are better (hopefully):) I live about 45-1hr away from campus. Would you move closer? The students I spoke with live very close to campus. Have you applied anywhere else or just Loma Linda?

Loma Linda Interview - Starting Fall 2012
I'm shocked that anyone would talk about applying elsewhere or acceptance at an interview/tour day. I did meet someone who was accepted to Texas Wesleyan on the day I tested and he was super nice!:) Did they tell you they were interviewing 22 for 8 spots when you initially got your interview notification? They told me it was a 50/50 chance last week so i'm hoping that is true. Are you local?

Loma Linda Interview - Starting Fall 2012
The students I talked to gave me a really good impression of the program. The spoke about how noone is left behind. That everyone helps everyone. I would love to be part of a program like that! Students being supportive rather than just competitive! So some of the students who interviewed already have offers of admission at other programs? I was invited to interview in the first few days of March so I was a little suprised people were interviewing last minutes especially with the HSRT that had to be taken.

Loma Linda Interview - Starting Fall 2012
I'm anxiously awaiting also! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to go to Loma Linda! Their program seems amazing! It was great talking to the current students and getting an idea of what it would be like to be at the Loma Linda's program! On Thursday I talked to a few interviewees that said that they were called last week to interview.

Loma Linda Interview - Starting Fall 2012
Stunt362 : I interviewed on Thursday also. Were you in the morning group or afternoon group? Michelle told us at the very end of the day that it may be 2-3 weeks before we hear back. Is that what you heard as well?

What do you look at when you try to pick out a CRNA school?
Candyn- It goes by # of cases not hours:) COA designates minimums for graduation but you usually graduate with much more than you need.

Thoughts on WGU
On another note. I have heard from a few people that have considered or are going to WGU that the pass/fail really messes with your future plans. Having a 3.0 in a BSN is low. You need much higher GPA in your BSN to be competitive for any competitive program.
