  1. SRNA4U: You are lucky! Wish I could have taken some of my classes before beginning the program. lighter load would have been awesome. First 2 quarters we have 16 units each quarter. I am tired!
  2. I agree with most of everything people say. If I only study 4-6 hrs a day ... though ... I would be really behind. I'm starting to do all nighters on the weekend to just get through content then have time to go back over and restudy. Repetition is key. The content you have to learn in CRNA school is not stuff you can just fudge through. You actually have to know it. You have to give up a lot while you are in school. Make sure you prepare family and friends for not seeing you for the next 2-3 years (depending on your program length) and if they can't handle that then they aren't really your friends anyways. One things my program focuses a lot on is balance. There has to be balance in your life. Make sure you are getting rest and exercising and spending a little time with family or you WILL lose your mind. I think my main point is.... YOU HAVE TO REALLY WANT TO BE A CRNA to get through this program. Otherwise ... don't even apply because you won't make it without the drive.
  3. Ended up getting in my first time applying too! What a blessing!:)
  4. I agree with all of my classmates. One stupid thing I'll suggest is to take a few sips of water while you are in the interview. It will calm you down and help with the dry mouth you get in the room. Gives you a second to think on hard questions before answering. They gave us water in the interview...I didn't even notice because I was so nervous:)
  5. I think with any CRNA school that there are so many applicants that you have to think about....if they have a ton of other applicants that all have the required ICU experience....why would they make an exception for step down experience. Try your hardest to get some ICU experience and keep on trying!!! I think you really the ICU experience is important!!
  6. I also think that is why they do the panel interviews....to see how you react under pressure. I've seen a few posts on various sites that talk about how many people were in interviews. check around
  7. Anastasiak- On the info/faq for the Loma Linda program there is a number/email to contact to be set up for a shadowing day.:)
  8. Was it Loma Linda that only counted GPA for last 60 Units?
  9. What school is it? I'm applying to a few with May 1st deadline and I haven't even taken my GRE yet:(
  10. How long did you guys study for the GRE? I'm trying to figure out if I can take it in a month. I already started studying a few months ago.
  11. nurse_crn2b Only got an interview. Haven't gotten accepted yet. BSN GPA >3.83 Science 3.5 Involved in more than 4 unit and hospital wide teams >6 years SICU/TICU experience
  12. I'm hoping for good news too! Let me know when you find out. I know if I don't get in this year that it isn't in God's plan and then I have more time to save and prepare!
  13. There were I think 3 LLU employees in my group. If I don't get in i'll just apply for next year. I wonder how hard it is to get a second interview if you aren't accepted after an interview the 1st time. I'm just going for LLU. Michelle warned me that most people think they should have done better on the HSRT. I got the same score. It said Strong Critical Thinking in the analysis.
