Nurse Practitioner (Mother) leaves 21 month old in car for 8 hours
Hopefully soon all car seats will be required by law to have an alarm built in at the factory. Maybe a wire or bluetooth attached somehow to the drivers door when it opens. Maybe have a little pulse type device built in that you can actually hear the beep beep beep beep of the childs pulse while you drive. Something already! I don't understand why the federal government hasn't demanded it by now. Parents need to demand this law of their congressmen and women. Now that there are more women in Congress than ever maybe we will see some action on this issue. Does anyone know of any laws being proposed for safer alarm built-in corificeats to help prevent this from happening? Certainly the technology is out there! So sad for all the parents this has happened to.

Being bullied at work
I always liked the saying when you assume something it makes an *** out of u and me. Good nurses are trained not to assume anything. Anticipate problems, yes, assume, big no-no. We must gather facts not make assumptions.

Being bullied at work
I didn't think she meant anything about color just that she was referring to the fact that they acted like criminals, bullies, bad a**es, that's all. It's in Urban Dictionary definition number 2.

Being bullied at work
OP, thanks for calling out these bullies behaviors. It takes courage. Get away from these bullies as fast as you can. It's not you! No one would want to deal with that BS! Don't listen to any of the negativity!

I have made a complaint against an NP
Say what? She called you to apologize for her clothes? Now that is something. How about that.

CEO Says More Nurses Won't Improve Care
CEO Says More Nurses Won't Improve Care-and 1+1 =11 too! It does not make a lick of common sense no matter what scare tactics management or CEO's spins on it. I guess their main job is to cut costs on top of care. It's a team approach apparently. Just ran across this while surfing. http://smysofficial.com/nursing/2636/

Yes , she admitted she made the mistake and didn't read the bottle either. Maybe it wouldn't have stopped her then but maybe if she'd read it on that bottle previously in her downtime at some point it may have helped or it may help someone out in the future so there's that to consider as well. All I'm trying to say is there is a lot to be looked at that could be improved. It sounds as if the hospital is on it from their very detailed improvement plan.

Maybe something on the bottles could be improved. Like in addition to saying Paralyzing Agent, STOPS BREATHING-Ambubag or Vent required. I mean really spell it out.

It looks red to me on my computer, anyone else?

Now my point is I asked a layperson which bottle had more red on it and they pointed to the Versed.

You feel free to go back and read if you want Wuzzie. One simple example is you said maybe my computer was messed up that the versed label was actually orange. I asked you simply if it was the lid or the label that was orange. You toatlly ignored that really simple question. Also twisting my words again...I never said it was you saying that 'Ignoratio' thing. I never even implied it. What's the purpose in implying I did. How does that benefit the discussion? It's easy to see who said it. It's just not very nice but whatever I'm a big girl!- S.C. 5th Grader Dies After a Fight at School
IJS if they aren't 'trained' an adult needs to sep in!- Latest on RaDonda Vaught case
You're way smarter Wuzzie. Good for you!!! You have all the answers it seems. I'm tired of what now feels like an argument. Go read over, there's several questions you ignored. Are you a Vanderbilt cheerleader in real life? If someone wants to label someone or their thinking at least they could do it in English! Bully! or not play games...watch me trick her with another language that includes 'Ignora' in its spelling. How clever!- Latest on RaDonda Vaught case
You didn't answer my questions either.- Latest on RaDonda Vaught case
What discussion? You're twisting words. Not to mention now even exaggerating the 20 steps she missed! Yes she made a mistake. Others were involved whether you like it or not.- Latest on RaDonda Vaught case
Two years experience is not enough to be floating everywhere with paralyzers in your pocket especially yes. I agree hubris is not a good trait. No argument here. One of the things I dislike the most about nursing is it seems like a lot of nurses are riding up on their high horse acting as if they are smarter than anyone else instead of trying to work together or collaborate. There's always a few out there trying to look like they have all the answers and only their way is the right way. There are a lot of ways to look at things.- S.C. 5th Grader Dies After a Fight at School
What kind of fighting has this child been exposed to at home? Where'd she learn this behavior? Where were the adults? Where was her teacher if she'd been being bullied all day long?! Where was the principal???!!! Maybe we need to teach our children to run to to the principal at the first inkling of bullying before some kid rams their head into a bookshelf since their teacher is evidently not paying attention!!! This is sickening that kids aren't protected from bullies at school. Adults where are you? This had been going on for a good while it sounds like. Was the bully the teachers kid or something??? Were they afraid of her parents? What gives???? They just didn't want to be bothered, what the hell??? I'd be holding the adults accountable for this as much as the bully! ZERO TOLERANCE TO BULLIES EVERYWHERE, ADULTS AND CHILDREN! So the child just brain hemmorhaged! I'm having a hard time having sympathy for the bully child but I do feel sad that she is a child, but that's about it, and maybe her environment was terrible. I don't know. Just no!- Latest on RaDonda Vaught case
