  1. I am also looking into transferring to this FNP program. What are the classes like? Assignments? Exams? I am unhappy with my current program due to the teaching style and really looking for a good hybrid-type program with more opportunities for "hands-on" learning while still being mostly online. Any info is appreciated!
  2. Do hospital case managers work 12 hour shifts or 8 hours? Thank you!

No, actually. Soon after they contacted me they sent an email saying the job was on hold. I tried back a few months later and was told there still weren't any openings in my area. I told them to keep me in mind if there were any future openings, but I never heard anything. :/ Good luck!!

SPJJmommy, let me know how it goes. I got an email from them asking me to fill out a paper app and I am in the process of doing that. I had applied on Monster but I guess they want their own app. I have looked all over trying to find out info about working there. Even about the lawsuit, I only found one mention online and all it said was that a lawsuit was filed by nurses for not receiving O/T pay and that the case was settled. Sounds like a good gig if it is a reputable company.

I am also wondering if you took the job at ISYS. I have applied there and can't find any info on the job situation there. Thanks!!
  6. Thank you! I started last week and so far so good. Everyone is really nice and I like the unit I am in. Feeling happy about my choice!
  7. Hi all! I have just been offered a job at DRMC in Palm Springs and wondering if there are any other RNs out there who work or have worked there and if the experience has been positive. I saw some reviews from travel nurses who weren't too happy but didn't see anything from employees. Thanks for any info you can provide. My current hospital job is a nightmare so I'm HOPING for a positive change. :)
  8. Mestrela,From what I heard, there were several new grads hired recently and then our corporate office told the director that she couldn't hire any new grads at this time. Maybe that is the "financial approval" HR told you about. I heard it had to do with hiring experienced nurses instead of new grads, but that may not have been true. Have they given you a start date yet? If I were you, I would keep looking just in case. When I got hired, I started within 2-3 weeks. Sorry.
  9. Thanks for all the info!! I appreciate it!! I will be starting in Med/Surg from what I've been told, but maybe I'll stop by the ICU. :)
  10. Also, just curious, is it straight time for the full 12 hours?? Thanks! :)
  11. Thank you so much for the response! I, too, am less concerned about pay and more about getting experience and having a job I love. I am thankful for the job and excited to start! I did know about the contract and I am fine with that. As my husband says, at least I know I'll have a job for 3 years. :) I am happy to hear you like DVH and maybe I'll see you there. :)
  12. Hi, just curious if you started Desert Valley and how you like it. I just got accepted to their new grad program starting in Oct. Was the starting pay $26/hr? I meet with HR later this week, so don't have any details yet. I am excited either way...I graduated in January, so I am happy to have a job! :)
  13. Hi! If it's not too much trouble, I would love the info packet for Everest as well. You can use my link to email me. :bowingpur I called Everest this week and was told to come in for their info sessions in August. I guess they have them twice a week in August only. I hope it's not too totally packed with potential students! :wink2:
