  1. jfj0710, I am also starting January 2015 and curious about the scheduling and how it will all work. I will be at the IE campus. Any current students out there?
  2. Thanks. I am still in the process of applying. I will check out those options.
  3. All, I am looking for some advice on which hospitals are best to work for in the Riverside/San Bernardino Area. I recently relocated back to Riverside and need to start looking for a job closer to home. I have been considering Loma Linda, Riverside Community, Redlands Community, etc. Any thoughts or information on local hospitals? Pay? Nurse satisfactio? Etc? Thanks for the help!

I lucked out in this current market. I graduated in May 2011, took the NCLEX and passed in June. By mid July I was working on a PCU floor at a great hospital. I count my blessings everyday
  5. I understand how hard it can be to get what you want in a plus size.... I wear a 24 top and 26 bottom and just ordered a TON of scrubs from www.tafford.com! I wear a 2x top and 3x bottom. They carry up to 5x or 6x. They have amazing sales ALL the time. Sign up for the email first and they will send a coupon almost immediatly. I didn't pay more than $12 for a top (check the clearance section) and I love the essentials elastic flair leg scrubs. The quality is great!
  6. Congrats on the call! I am in a similar situation as you. I have since landed a position at another hospital and start later this month. I wish Loma Linda wasn't so last minute.
  7. Anyone have any updates on Loma Linda? It's like everything was moving forward and then all of a sudden the whole thing just stopped. Curious???
  8. Has anyone heard from any other departments other than heme/oncology, NICU, and PICU. I was hoping to hear from cardiac/solid organ transplant, but nothing yet....
  9. DanibirdRN, I was offered a job in the Grossmont Residency Program after my interview too! Looks like we will be working together! Congrats
  10. danibirdRN, I don't have much more information regarding Grossmont's Residency. Unfortunately, I did not get the PCU position, but I have an interview for the residency program this week. How did you interview go?
  11. Has anyone received a call back regarding Sharp Grossmont PCU 5W? They were going to contact everyone they interviewed by June 1st, but so far I haven't heard anything? Anyone know anything? Waiting is killing me...
  12. I received the same email yesterday....so excited! I had Pediatric Cardiac/Transplant as my 1st choice. Now the waiting begins for the next step...an interview! Keeping my fingers crossed! @ Lovepeacelove: I live about 30-45 minutes from the Loma Linda in San Bernardino. I live 5 miles from the new Loma Linda in Murrieta, but they aren't taking new grads yet Congrats All! Let us know if anyone gets an interview!
  13. Congrats Tankerbug, How did the SICU interview go for you? Any tips for me....my interview is in a few weeks for PCU/Tele.
  14. Yay! I was just called for an interview at Sharp Grossmont PCU/Tele!! Does anyone have interview tips or information on what I should expect? I am so nervous...
  15. Has anyone heard from Grossmont Tele/PCU or Residency programs? They said mid to late April....
  16. Update regarding Mary Birch... I know that many people have been asking about Mary Birch. Two of my classmates just landed positions in the New grad program in this department...don't know much more than that. Might I also mention that we all just graduated in April. This means there is still hope for the rest of us :)
  17. I emailed a Sharp recruiter who stated that different departments/hospitals are moving at different paces. I applied for Grossmont PCU/Tele and Residency...she said those calls won't even start until mid to late April. Keeping my fingers crossed!
  18. Yes, the supplemental form was brutal and took me way longer than the suggested 30-40 minutes. I did not receive confirmation that my application was received, but I don't think they are sending that out. Keeping my fingers crossed that I get a chance to interview!
  19. A few of us have been wondering what dress code is for orientation. Someone has already been nice enough to send an email to find out, but we haven't heard yet. Anyone heard anything? How about those who attended previous terms? Thanks!
  20. fmr82, Most of us ordered them directly from Ratcliffe's Medical Books. They have the list of all the books we need. Plus if you order from them they include the e-book package that allows you to access all the texts through your pc. Their information was included on the yellow flyer in our open house material. The package is $1100 shipped. I hope this information helps you! Erin
  21. All, I just received the textbooks in the mail. I must say $1100 wasn't a bad deal. These are HUGE books. I have paid way more for other texts that were much smaller. I am so excited to start diving in and reading these books! There is sooooo much information! Erin
  22. JBSD, I ordered my books last Thursday and have not received them yet. I think that they quoted me about 7-10 days. They are mailed UPS ground from Oklahoma. I just had my 1st tb test read today and have to wait a week before I can have the 2nd one done. Once it's read I am done with the vaccinations. I couldn't believe how fast the background and drug test were finished. I received my drug test results in less then 24 hours! Have a great holiday everyone! See you all in less than 2 weeks! Erin
  23. Anyone receive an email regarding orientation yet? They mentioned that we should receive something by the 23rd, but my inbox is still empty. How is everyone doing on getting their vaccinations, books, etc?
  24. It's so quiet on the board...you can tell we are all busy getting vaccinations, background checks, drug tests, and spending $$$.
  25. Just got off the phone with Ratcliffe's Medical Books and the total cost with the e-book package is $1059.72 plus shipping. They said shipping averages around $60. That's not as bad as I was expecting. I had heard it was closer to $1500.00. Good thing Santa already knows that all I want for Christmas is a stehoscope, scrubs, shoes, and books! I can already feel the pain of the next 14 months.....but I am looking forward to it!
