elkpark, i was also well-educated on this subject. as a matter of fact, a couple of my instructors harped on it and believe me, when i even consider blurring that line a little bit, my mind goes back and gets real clear real fast lol. what amazes me is the fact that as soon as you start "nursing school", family and friends begin calling for advice and asking questions. one of my instructors told us that in class and i just laughed it off, but it was true. my grandmother was having a procedure and refused to have anyone else in the family with her besides me because i was "in nursing school". heck, i was just starting my core classes! i had 2 exams that day and lost 20 points on them (10 pts for each that i missed)...shaking my head...but i was there for my bestie that i love so very much!!! but seriously, i was shocked at how many people would just call out of the blue...strange to me sometimes when it is a friend, it is difficult to remain professional at all times. with that being said, i try diligently to always be very careful to not "blur that line" or relationship with another because i was definately paying attention in class and know what can happen...and i don't want it to happen to me lol.

I agree with Orca...if I write them, it helps me to remember. I read this post earlier today from Nurse2be09 in a post about the NCLEX and maybe it will help you. I hope Nurse2be09 doesn't mind me sharing... "I studied the drugs by the classifications. I used a little handbook called Mosby's Pharmacoogy Memory Notecards since I'm a visual learner. For example, I know antibotics should be taken with lots of fluids. I also know drugs that start with Cepha (antibotics), it is contraindicated for patients who are allergic to PCN. In other words, Cepha=PCN allergy. I know the ACE-I ends in -pril and I need to watch out for hyperkalemia and persistant cough. Beta blockers end in -olol and I need to watch for hypotension. This is how I studied for meds. And I had several questions on NCLEX with common meds and a few I've never heard of, but was able to look at the classification and go from there." Absolutely 100% positive. I'm not gonna lie...that was my first thought and even though I didn't believe it, I did question her about it. I think if he even remotely tried something like that he would get his butt kicked...she's a little spitfire LOL. Honestly, I truly don't believe that he is responsible.

i know someone that is continuously getting black eyes so much that her boyfriend is referring to her as his little "black eye pea", she's about 4' 8" lol. they seem to move from eye to eye or sometimes both at once and then go away, but now they are staying for a longer period of time. there seems to be no reason for this that we can figure out. i have begged her to go to the doctor to get it seen about (it's very obvious), but no insurance...no doctor for her. does anyone have any ideas about this problem? thanks for any input on this!

actually, i have unfortunately, but i have also learned to view things from another's viewpoint and that not everything is black and white, no matter what you may see yourself. there are always circumstances that manipulate reality or what you might think is reality. i completely understand what you are saying and thank you so much for the reply.

hi everyone, i am taking a human development class and my professor wants a paper on connected knowing and separate knowing, picking an issue and relating examples from both sides. i understand the concept, but does anyone have any ideas that they could help me out with? it would be much appreciated!!!

yes, we are still praying for her. i think about her every day. i am about to have oral surgery myself and i am absolutely terrified so i am also asking for your prayers. :chair:

oh my gosh...you guys are scaring the crap outta me!!! i almost quit my lpn program 10 days before graduation and decided to stick it out (little conflict of professional ethics on instructor's part). now i'm in the rn program and wow......i'm in for a real treat, aren't i???:chair:

i am saying a prayer for her, the family, her friends and coworkers, and the doctors and nurses caring for her. please keep us updated on her progress. :wshgrt:
