  2. Same here Candwloc!! We will see. Praying for us all......
  3. HELPPPPPP!! I am freaking out here. My test DIDN'T cut off at 75. I stopped looking at around 125 (( I just check PearsonVUE and it says"Our records indicate that you ahve recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your member boeard for further assistance. Another registration cannot be made at this time." I REALLY feel like i FAILED, I have been crying since I left the testing site. Does the quick result work on Sunday (2 days later).
  4. hello everyone. thanks for all the great posts about the new grad salary. i haven't seen anything on the pay for new grads in baton rouge. does anyone know what a new grad working at olol-br, womans hospital, oschner and baton rouge general should expect to start at? any input would be greatly appreciated. also, can anyone shed some light on the job market here as well. how long is it taking for the new grads to get employed? if its taking a while, what are the employers saying? are there any new grads unable to land a job? just curious about how things are and what the class of 2011 has to look forward to. thanks guys!!!
  5. hi everyone, has anyone from louisiana received an email yet?? i think they forgot about us
  6. I agree mainnursing1234. What state are you located in?
  7. This is my first time applying as well. I am in LA and it seems like none of the emails have been sent to our state. I am hopeful. Congrats!!
  8. sunraygurlRN2B, Just wondering, was this your 1st time applying?
  9. Thanks Helpingothersinlife!! Great Advice. Other students that have just completed the 1st semester, tips are welcome!!
  10. :yeah:Contrats!! I will be starting my 1st semester on Jan 11th. Do you mind sharing suggestions, study tips, do's and dont's with all of us that will be starting in January?
  11. GREAT!!! Thanks so much melmarie23. I am excited and scared at the same time. I just want to be prepared so I will definitely check into Saunders.
  12. Hi itsmejuli I will be a 1st semester nursing student in Jan 2010. I am very interested in getting the Saunders NCLEX to help with testing, would you happen to have the isbn#?
  13. I had just started taking pre reqs last year and received my summons for jury duty. I tried to get out of it but here in LA if you are not in school full time, they will not exempt you. However, as a full time nursing school student, they would have excused me. You may want to make the call to verify. Good luck.
  14. Thanks for the positive words Mi Vida Loca. I will be a 1st semester nursing student in the spring and I am so tired of hearing the negative. It's great to hear someone being positive.
  15. thanks for sending that. congrats to you as well. i will definitely take a look at the thread.
  16. hi everyone!!! i received my letter on yesterday. accepted into nursing school for spring 2010 i am soooooo excited and scared at the same time. any advice / suggestions from current nursing students to help out the rookies coming in?
  17. since i can't really find anything on the web..... this is for the first graduating class at baton rouge community college son (or any son in baton rouge, la). congrats to brcc soc on the 100% pass rate on the nclex. how was it? were there many that started the program but didn't finish? how are the instructors? were they very supportive? would you recommend brcc son (or other son on btrg) to others? why? or why not? i would love to hear from all recent grads in the area. any input would be greatly appreciated. i am trying to make the best decision. i have applied to olol but want options. thanks so much!!
  18. I am so glad that you posted this. I am actually waiting on my acceptance letter and I have a million fears and THAT is 1 of them. What if I go all the way through and HATE it? I am so glad to have somewhere to go where there are professionals available to listen and give words of encouragement.
  19. Wow!! Your should be proud of yourself. CONGRAT!!! How inspiring to hear :clphnds:
  20. Wow!! This is the same situation that I am in. I have 3 children as well. I started with prereqs last August and have finished them all. I can tell you that it is a challenge. I chose a small school in my area to go to. I can't give you any advice on nursing school until I get in but I can say as an older student I am more focused and I am actually enjoying it. Everything is seen differently when you chose to go back. Hopefully some of the older (30+) students will see this post and give some feedback. I am anxious to hear.
  21. You are right, it IS worth it. Thanks for the reply and good luck in your studies.
  22. sbain51, Congrats on getting in. Would you please share your experience so far? Also, curious to know gpa, teas score, prereqs taken etc., if you don't mind. I applied for Spring 2010 and wanted to know how I compare to those accepted. I am pretty new to posting so if you would like to send a private mssg, I am sure I can figure out how to get to it.
  23. OK, I see. I won't give up. I am going to be patient. I am sure you know how the wait take its toll. I will find out from BRCC what their deadline / test date is and take a shot at it. Just curious, did you apply at OLOL? Any comments on their program?
  24. Thanks Mskay, I actually thought about BRCC, I have been told that it is VERY competitive. Do you have any idea when their deadline is? As for Southern, I don't think I would qualify, for now, may not have all of the prereqs for SU. But I will check into it, just in case. THE WAIT IS KILLING ME
