Does anyone know any open positions for new grad in Bay Area?
For me the State Hospital process was much quicker. I had an offer from Coalinga 1 month after sending in my application. It was quick so it just depends on your timing. I start next week so the total time from sending in my application to starting is less than 2 months. Good luck.

Anyone Start at Coalinga State Hospital May 4th?
Thanks myron6ny- I have been to Coalinga several times in the last few months so I know how small it is. I don't mind it that much though and I think I may just live there to cut down on gas cost. Thanks for the info.

Anyone Start at Coalinga State Hospital May 4th?
I wanted to know if anyone is starting at Coalinga State Hospital on May 4th. I still need to get a place to live. Is anyone starting or does anyone who already works there have any living advice for me? Thanks!

New Grad - am I doing something wrong?
Well I am thin, in my twenties but not blonde. I guess thats why I don't have a job. Its the hair. I feel like you are using young nurses as a scape goat. Its bad for everyone!

Overwhelming # of Nars and Nurses Quitting
I am confused about why there is a staff shortage at your facility when there are so many new grads that can't get a job. Where are you... maybe I will relocate there.

How to get "recruited" to states that need nurses?
Hello everyone- I'm one of those new grads that is having a hard time getting that first job. I feel blessed that I am able to relocate and I have heard people talk about states, such as Texas, Wisconsin, Iowa, New Mexico, that are "actively recruiting" and will take new grads. Well, does anyone know how I get recruited? The deal is this, it has taken me months to understand the market in California and the thought of starting over in a new state, especially a state I know very little about, is daunting. If there is a dire need somewhere, I would much rather be recruited and just go. Does anyone have any information that would be helpful? Thank you!!!

Career Fair @ Sac State
Sutter, UC Davis Med Center, Air Force, Army, a travel nurse company... did I miss any. Honestly, no one was actually hiring. The most positive thing I heard was, "well we DID hire a few grads in January, so it does happen." DISMAL!!!!

Need Advice- Am I screwing up my life? Help Please
I moved back to California Sep 08 right after I graduated from an east coast school. I still don't have a job. I agree with everyone who has posted so far. Get a job there and continue to monitor the situation here.

Advice Welcome From Around The Country
Protoadn- can I ask you how on earth you got the prison interview? I would also love to do prison nursing, am also in CA, but after I did the online application I haven't heard anything. I am getting pretty used to hearing nothing. I wish you good luck. I would say try the state hospitals too but you already said "crazy people" don't do it for you.

Where are there jobs in Texas?
Thank you, i just emailed the Versant program director. I am a little worried the Versant Program is going to take a while, as it is probably only run twice a year. Are there any hospitals in such need that they will hire me right away?

New Grad jobs in Oregon? Help! Please!
Hi Oregon Nurses- I am a new grad RN with a California License who is looking to relocate to Oregon, anywhere in the state. Are they in need of new grads anywhere in the state? I have my ACLS, BLS and I graduated Magna Cum Laude from my BSN program. Any information would be appreciated.

Should I give up and just get my masters?
Yes justme, I have been considering the military. The problem is I have a boyfriend and a life here and that would cease to exist if I get stationed in Japan for 3 years. I am 27 and would like to get married sooner rather than later and a 3 year stint would put that on hold. That is pretty much my last option at this point, although I have applied to work as a civilian on any naval base in the state. I havent heard anything back yet.

Where are new grad jobs?
Hello Washington Nurses- I am a new grad RN, with a California license, who is looking to relocate anywhere in Washington State (because its not Texas, which is another option). Seattle is one of my favorite cities in the world, although I understand they are probably full of newbies looking for jobs as well. After 7 months of looking in California and 70 applications later I have decided to throw in the towel. There are very few nursing jobs here. My friends and family tell me to get a different job but the problem is I actually want to be a nurse. So my question is, where should I be looking in Washington? And please, keep in mind I am a new grad. Many hospitals are hiring experienced nurses but few hire new grads, and thats what I am looking for. Any help would be very appreciated.

Where are there jobs in Texas?
Hellllllooooooo Texas! I am a new grad RN from California who is looking to relocate. After a very dedicated 7 month search for a job in my state I am throwing in the towel (its about time for a good adventure anyway). Where in Texas do they need new grads... and be honest. From what I have read on here Dallas in touch and go, there are no jobs in Austin, but are there really jobs for newbies in San Antonio? I would love some input.
